love that EC has fun things like parties, visits to the

chose Brighton because I had never been to
England. I learned and improved a lot, especially
my speaking skills. My favourite activity was
laser tag, because it was very exciting. I liked
the lessons and exercises we did in class. My
room is modern and clean; I like it a lot. I made
many friends and the social leaders are kind. I
will remember everything, especially the parties
and the city.

classes as well as fun activities. One thing I
like about London is that it has something for
everyone, like museums, galleries, and shopping
centres. What I like most is that you study a
different topic each week. The best thing to do
on a Sunday afternoon is to explore the city with

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQ: I need to get in touch with my child urgently
what can I do?
A: Every Young Learner destination has its own
emergency number that can be found in the
information pack you will receive upon booking a
programme.
Q: In the case of homestay programmes, when will I
know more about my family?
A: Homestay profiles are sent out 2 weeks prior to
your arrival.
Q:What can I expect my child to learn?
A: Young Learner courses are well-rounded to give
your child the confidence and independence
to speak English themselves. We emphasize
speaking and listening as these skills are not often
practised back home, but also include relevant
cultural activities to enhance your learning
experience. We create an interactive learning
environment that merges academic language
learning with real-world practise.
Q: How much pocket money should I give my child?
A: The programmes are all inclusive and therefore
all meals, accommodation, tuition and activities
(including entrance fees) are covered. Pocket
money is advisable for extra beverages, shopping
and extra activities. This is not obligatory and
purely up to the student, at the discretion.
The average Young Learner is generally given
approximately £42/$55/CAD72 per week.
Q:How do students spend their time at the weekend
or during their freetime?
A: Classic: We offer a standard activity programme of
5 half-day activities, 4 evening activities, and 1 full
day activity per week so that free time is limited
while offering students a chance to relax and
mingle with their new friends.
Summer Camp: We offer a standard activity
programme of 5 half-day activities, 5 evening
activities and 2 full day activities per week. Thus
24-hr supervision is provided.
Freestyle: We offer a standard activity programme
of 3 half-day activities, 3 evening activities and 1
full day activity per week, allowing our more mature
Young Learners a more independent stay.
A typical Young Learner weekend or free morning/
evening involves a healthy blend of self-study,
relaxation, and exciting activities to allow students
to explore their destination alongside their friends.
Q: Is there a curfew in place for my child?
A: Curfews are dependent on age, with strict rules
in place on each programme to ensure that our
students are well-rested and ready to get the
most out of their day filled with fun lessons and
activities. EC leaders are on hand to ensure that
the rules are respected every night, and safety is a
constant priority.
Q:How many students is one EC social leader
responsible for?
A: We assign one EC leader per 15 students on our
Classic and Freestyle programme, and 1 EC leader
per 10 students on our Summer Camp programme
to make sure each Young Learner gets the
supervision they need.
We look forward to welcoming your kids to our Young Learner
Programmes!
