● you are over 18 years old ● you have a Dutch health insurance ● you need to be registered at the municipality and have a BSN ● you have a job in addition to your studies ● your income is not higher than €36,022 per year

Navigate to the site of the Belastingdienst (click here).

Click on “inloggen op mijn toeslagen” to proceed.

Click “Inloggen” to log in with your DigiD.

If you do not have a DIGID you can not proceed.

Log in using your DigiD.

Tick the second radio button if you have a DIGID which requires an extra sms code. Then fill in your user name and password in the fields and click “Inloggen”.

In order to apply for zorgtoeslag please click on “Aanvragen”.

The screen to the right is the homescreen of “Mijn Toeslagen”. Click on “Aanvragen” next to “Zorgtoeslag”.

Fill in the date at which you wish for it to start.

The correct format for this is Day/Month/Year, in numbers. Also indicate if you have a legal partner (“ja” = yes, “nee” = no). Click “Ga verder” to proceed.

Review the presented information and click “Akkoord” to proceed.

Note the disclaimer at the bottom saying that you hereby indicate that you wish to receive zorgverzekering and will have to pay back any money you were not entitled to.

Indicate your income and click “Akkoord”.

Depending on how long you have been working in the Netherlands it will plug in your existing tax data. Please note that if you earn more than €36,022 per year, you are not entitled to zorgtoeslag.

Fill in the bank account number you wish to receive zorgtoeslag on and click “Akkoord”.

Make sure you use the IBAN-format (more info here). Only Dutch bank accounts are supported at the moment.

Review the data you submitted before proceeding.

Be sure to check the height of your income as you have to pay back any money you were not entitled to.

Click “Ondertekenen en verzenden” to submit your application.

If you’re unsure wether you filled in the data correctly, click “Vorige” to review the information.
