WHYCHOOSE
2020 – Année de Gaulle130th anniversary of his birth
80th anniversary of the Call fromLondon on 18th June 194050th anniversary of his death
Yvonne Salmon (1885-1965) wrote thisbook in 1943, a very early biography ofGeneral de Gaulle, for Alliance FrançaiseUK members and for British teenagers. The authors of the two prefaces to thisnew edition are respectively a FrançaisLibre, later historian, and the director ofAlliance Française de Londres. This edition contains the recoveredoriginal typescript for the book andhandwritten annotations by de Gaullehimself.
