Leaf Recycling
Mulching & composting your leaves nourishes
your lawn and garden. The Virginia Coopera-
tive Extension Service recommends placing
your leaves through a shredder or mower to
create mulch and compost that is good for
weed control and soil amendment. For more
information, contact the Henrico County Extension
Service at (804) 501-5160 or at www.ext.vt.edu.

Prevent Pollution
We kindly ask that you place your leaves at
an accessible location in front of your
property in order to prevent the degradation
of water quality, flooding, and traffic hazards.
Please do not block traffic lanes, parking,
roadside gutter pans, or drainage ditches.
County ordinances restrict the placement of
leaves in these locations, as leaves can ob-
struct stormwater drainage. Leaves in our
streams and waterways contribute to storm-
water pollution, as they often contain dirt, de-
bris, and pet waste. Please help keep your
neighborhood neat and attractive by properly
placing your leaves and promptly calling for
leaf vacuum service.
Leaf Vacuum
Services
Henrico County offers a leaf vacuuming ser-
vices for $30 per order during the following
times:
• Nov. 12, 2019 - Dec. 30, 2019
• Feb. 24, 2020 - March 31, 2020
To be eligible for vacuum services, the leaf
piles:
• Must be accessible from the road in front of
your Henrico property.
• Must not contain trash, sticks or debris as this
prevents the leaves from being recycled.
Once your leaves are placed by the road,
please place your order online at
www.henrico.us/utilities or call (804) 501-
4275. For any questions regarding the leaf
vacuum pickup, please call (804) 727- 8257.
Please note that we work hard to collect vacu-
um leaf orders in a timely manner. We cannot
guarantee an exact timeframe for collection
due to the large volume of orders placed and
weather conditions that complicate collection
efforts. Your patience is greatly appreciated!
A-E Area Residents: collection services
are automatically provided for you.
Non A-E Area Residents: call office at
(804) 727-8770 to place a pickup order.
