participating schools were provided with basketball equipment and other materials.

Revive Basketball practice in

Aneho

Located 45 minutes away from Lome (capital of Togo), Aneho was the first step of the BWP 2013.

We held a tournament at the “College Saints Pierre et Paul”, which brought together more than 120

young participants (boys and girls combined) from six different schools in the city. We sincerely

hope that our efforts will revive the interest and practice levels of basketball in this city.

Altitude Sport in Atakpame

Atakpame was the third leg in the BPW. A storm disrupted the workouts; the tent housing the

spectators gave in to the wind, fortunately for all, it brought more fear than harm. Note the excellent

hospitality we received and the perfect organization of the day.

the campus of the University of Lome.

We were honored by the presence of Franck Traore in our ranks – an NBA development coach –

for two days in Lome. He attended the closing event on March 9th where he named the MVP and

spotted a young talent. On Sunday morning, he even managed to play some pick up ball with the

seniors at the University of Lome campus. We are grateful for his time and support!

Make a difference

The project's success should not blind us from the obstacles we had to overcome. A report will be

published in the coming months. Figures from the survey conducted in the different cities will

support our conclusions and make concrete recommendations such as a need for equipment, the

development or maintenance of scarce and rather poor facilities. The AQUEREBURU &

PARTNERS Foundation is already committed to renovate the basketball field in the Aneho Centre.

Poorly maintained Basketball courts and children playing barefoot because

of lack of equipment.
