Wind is one of the main contributing forcescausing rain penetration in a building. Whenwind blows on the face of a building, it forceswater through even the smallest opening. A wall utilizing rain screen technology isdesigned to counteract the pressure of thewind. When wind hits the Glen-Gery ThinTech® “Elite” wall it forces air into the airflowchambers, causing the chambers to reachthe same pressure as the wind; thus the netpressure difference across the cladding isnear zero. As a result, the wall pressure isequalized and the driving force for pressure-induced water penetration is eliminated.
