Its hexagonal radiator grille exudes strength, just as its sloping tail gate, oversize rear bumper and aggressive stance conveys purpose and sophistication. ELECTRIC FOLDING MIRRORS**

The side mirrors are not only electrically adjustable, but are also heated, and incorporate LED side repeaters for improved visibility while enhancing the mirror design. The side mirrors can be conveniently folded at the touch of a button - just the thing to get you out of a tight spot.

PANORAMIC SUNROOF*

The large glass Panoramic sunroof covers the entire roof surface and augments openness, light and air circulation inside, as well as contributing to the overall trendy urban exterior. The black colour of the glass imparts a sense of openess while providing privacy. The roof guarantees safety with the use of safety glass and safety mechanisms. Inside, the adjustable roller blinds can be shifted to a position of your choice, or closed to block out 100% of the light.

The Premium model is equipped with 17” stylish alloy wheels and 225/60R tyres. The Executive and Elite models come with 18” alloy rims in a head-turning design and mounted with 225/55R 18” tyres and Hyundai logo wheel caps.

New-style front fog lamps are neatly integrated into the bumper and are positioned low to the ground for maximum effectiveness while driving in misty, foggy weather.

The ix35’s sporty high tech headlamps connect with and give definition to the characteristic fluidic sculpture design. The polycarbonite headlights are chip, crack and sun fade resistant. This improves the quality of the light projection and the life of the headlight.

sIGNATURe GRIlle

A distinctively large hexagonal radiator grille in chrome and high gloss black exudes an aggressive yet refined image, further enhancing the fluidic design.

ReAR cOMbINATION lAMPs

Rear combination lamps accentuate the fluidic line that commences in the front and carries through to the rear, emphasising the ix35’s sporty character.

YOUR INTERIOR AND YOURS ALONE

The most important things are the most personal. So the ix35 allows you to customise the interior settings just the way you like it. Set the monitor to provide information such as distance to empty, average speed or average fuel consumption. Listen to music any way you want - CD, radio, or from an iPod, MP3 or USB.

Dual Full auto air ConDitioningThe 2.0 Premium model features standard air conditioning with a 4 speed fan and a Max A/C button allowing for faster cooling. The Executive and Elite models feature Dual Zone Climate Control. This allows the two front occupants to individually set their respective temperatures. The system also includes a Cluster Ionizer which stops fungus growth by generating positive and negative ions. This provides clean air and a healthy interior environment.

Performance with efficiency. What every car seeks. The die-cast aluminium engine features variable valve timing and a variable induction system. Nothing intrudes on the powerful performance and fluid motion delivered. Vibration is minimised and there’s hardly any noise when idling and accelerating. The reduced overall weight enhances fuel economy. Dynamic and forceful, yet quiet and effective. Strength is truly beautiful when it wastes nothing.

Downhill Brake Control (DBC)

For when things get steep. To keep control and maintain steady speed on steep, downhill descents, engage Downhill Brake Control. The DBC will automatically apply braking force to ensure that the driver does not loose control of the vehicle. Once activated, the vehicle will descend using the ABS brake system to control each wheel’s speed.

The ix35 is powered by your choice of two engines. The 2.0l petrol engine provides 122kW of power and 197Nm of torque, and the innovative R2.0l diesel engine produces an impressive 130kW of power and 383Nm and 392Nm of torque for the manual and automatic transmissions respectively.

tranSMiSSion

The 2.0l Premium and Executive Manuals are matched with a reliable 5 speed transmission. The R2.0l Diesel model is matched with a 6 speed manual transmission. The 2.0l and R2.0l Diesel Executive models are matched to a 6 speed automatic transmission. The step gate shift pattern on the Automatic transmission eliminates the possibility of a missed shift, while the smooth manual transmission provides for an easy shifting motion.

SHAPE IT THE WAY YOU WANT IT.

You want things just right. Then again, sometimes you need to change them around. The ix35 lets you configure a multitude of seat arrangements. Recline them - it’s a simple matter. When you load up, protection’s already on board, thanks to a luggage net that prevents your gear moving around and getting damaged. The luggage screen also provides additional security and privacy.

Whether it’s upright, front seats that are semi-flat, or second row seats that are split or fully folded, the choice of seat positions offers exceptional flexibility.

Increased luggage space, courtesy of an increased rear overhang and redesigned rear wheel suspension, allows for 591 litres to a maximum of 1436 litres of luggage space

CARING FOR WHAT’S IMPORTANT

Protection that leaves you reassured. The ix35’s safety features are designed for you to travel with confidence. Depowered airbags on the driver’s and front passenger’s seats deploy at reduced force to prevent possible injury. Side airbags and curtain airbags on the Executive and Elite models, are installed all around to protect occupants from injuries. Active headrests move up and forward during a rear-end collision to minimise head and neck injuries. Impact absorption is further improved through the use of hollow structural side members that gradually increase in diameter from front to back. On the side of the chassis, the centre ‘B’ pillar has been redesigned as an internal roll bar, to allow for a safer cabin area. At the back, the rear frame member is reinforced and the fuel filler neck base has been moved forward for added safety.
