Opening Retreat - sponsored by Freshmark Inc.Chair: Bobbi Beale (20th), Child & Adolescent Behavioral HealthParticipants will kick-off the program with a 2 ½ day experience comprised of workshops that focus on Stark County history, strengths and challenges, and gain insight into personal leadership styles, team building, ethics and personal mission.

Stark County Day - sponsored by Alliance PetroleumCo-chairs: Bill Bell, (22nd), Kenan Advantage Group A whirlwind bus tour traverses nearly 100 miles of the county. Similarities and differences are addressed as community leaders hop on and off the bus through out the day.

Economic Growth and Development - sponsored by Hall Kistler & Co, LLPCo-Chairs: Ron Becker (20th), Hilscher-Clarke Electric, Joe Ovnic (19th), Quickdraft, Inc.Explore the components of economic growth, and focus on local businesses and their roles in the community. Current issues affecting the economic health of our community are addressed through tours and in-depth conversation with CEO’s.

Human Services - sponsored by Coleman ProfessionalCo-chairs: Christopher Hewitt (19th), Quest Recovery Services, Molly Moriarty, Stark County Dept of Job and Family Services An introduction to the organizations that meet many of our community’s needs, the key people and issues involved in providing services to local residents, and how leadership and individual volunteer efforts can make a difference.

Asset Building Day - sponsored by Employers Health Chair: John Kaminski (22nd), Day Ketterer Can a community can identify, nurture and develop potential leaders from all walks of life? The selection, development and implementation of small-group community service projects is the focus.

Education - sponsored by Stark State College of Technology Co-Chairs: Tamra Hurst (12th), Stark County Educational Service Center; Michael Shreffler (18th), Northwest Local SchoolsA look at present realities, future needs, and the leadership challenges available to positively impact local educational opportunities. Issues of accountability, collaboration, and transitions are examined.

The role of the arts in our community’s emotional, educational and financial well being is addressed.

Justice - sponsored by The Stark County Association for Justice and the Bar Association Co-Chairs: Mary Ann Abel, Stark County Family Court; Michelle Schuld (23rd), Black McCuskey LawAn overview of the civil and criminal justice systems, processes, and services to the community, with a particular emphasis on juvenile issues. Participants examine issues facing the community and leadership roles to help shape community response.
