afraid. Intense, detail oriented. They refuse compromise and are

hardheaded. Gets the job done!!!!

Leads by imagination and intuition. They have vision of the “big picture”. Invites others to share, originality and

creativity. Shows emotion and laughter. Unpredictable, goes after new ideas. Found in social or professional locations. Goes along just to be part of the unique

possibilities.

Has common sense and integrity. Is trusted, is well balanced and an excellent

listener. Caring , logical person who values getting the job

done!!! Refuses to sacrifice peoples feelings and views. Predictable (has it all together) Ventures into creative thinking. Aware of the real world and is reasonable. Skilled decision maker. Avoids making others feel like they are winners or

losers.

Best way is a combination of an Artist and a Craftsman.

Because of creativity and genuine enthusiasm with level headedness, compassion and collaboration.

Discussion- They learn when they are actively involved in the oral communication process, with lots of dialogue and feedback.

Logic- They learn things presented logically, with a “just the

facts”, to-the-plan approach.

Design- They learn when they can see and hear how the “big picture”, or all the parts fit together.

Emotion- They learn with a hands-on approach, one in which the leader is energetic and fired up.

A Leader Has a Sense of Vision- vision beyond the obvious, long term goals, gets ideas from others, community involvement and sees the “big” picture.

A Leader is Willing to Act- takes charge, makes big decisions, takes responsibility, “actions speak louder than words”.

A Leader Makes Good Decisions- is ethical, does their “homework”, prioritizes and is informed and takes charge.

A Leader Can Handle Conflict- works well with people, problem solver, turns negatives into positives.

Conflict Management 1. Shut up- be quiet and listen. 2. Listen up- eye contact-shows listening. 3. Hook up- tries to understand the other viewpoint. 4. Chill down- responds without a temper while in the heat of the moment.

A Leader Works to Avoid Pitfalls Being afraid to fail… don’t be afraid to fail. Not paying attention to details… the small things. Forgetting people and the original objectives… thinks of others. Not listening to others… stays on track and listens.

A Leader Knows how to Motivate- knows what to motivate each person, motivates but means business and shows confidence.

The 6 Planks of Leadership!!!! A good leader should pay close attention to the tone of their

voice and their nonverbal signals. Often leadership involves the empowerment of people. Speech and leadership go hand in hand. Don’t just make a decision to be done. Make good decisions. A good leader can’t prevent problems. Verbal or oral communication is the best communication. Don’t play it safe. Take risks and chances. Learning styles concern everybody! A good leader is concerned about people. Only certain people find themselves in a position of

leadership.
