Yet I also think you’ll be able to land on the solid rock of the gospel and the good news that forgiveness is always available. For openers, ask what surprised them about the message. For exa mple, God’s character of grace and mercy in the Old Testament could be a topic addressed, as many Christians see the God of the Old Testament in a different light than God as revealed in the New Testament. This is an open- ended question and an ice-breaker. No right or wrong answers. For group discussion - What did you think about the definition of  secret sin ? Would you define  secret sin  differently, and if so, how? God sending Nathan to confront David   Do you see that more as an act of grace & mercy or judgment & condemnation?  Why? Discuss  No right or wrong answers. This may help people better understand their view of God. Do you identify more with David’s  suffering and consequences of secret sin or with his experience of God’s grace and mercy? Why? For those who may choose to answer, “What  lessons have you learned in your life in regard to secret sin?”  and, “Would  anyone like to share any current realities that this story brings to your mind?   Remind the group that there is safety and confidentiality in your group. You know your group best. Take a look at the LOOKING BACK for other thoughts. Some of the quotes may be worth talking about.
