A referenced material for pharmaceuticals

A material rich of a thousand-year history, with well-known barrier and transparency properties, glass is the reference material for pharmaceutical products. As primary packaging of drugs, glass, more than any other material, meets the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry such as washing, depyrogenization and sterilization.Glass is the unmatched packaging material for sensitive molecules; its barrier properties against oxygen and water provide high stability for medications.

SGD Pharma produces all type of molded glass vials, tubular glass vials and ampoules.

One quality system management worldwide

All our manufacturing sites are certified according to ISO 15378. In every facility, our staff is fully committed to respecting applicable GMP to ensure consistent quality for the pharmaceutical industry. SGD Pharma is collaborating with its clients to tailor quality specifications.

Quality control through the manufacturing process

SGD Pharma controls and manages the whole production process through the following tests: Fully automated inspection systems from the initial composition of raw material to the final packing Final on-line inspection to check 100% of the vials for dimensional, functional and visual specification Compendial testing according to pharmacopoeias USP, EP, CFDA, JP) Batch release based on manufacturing records and QC results

The traceability of production and controls are maintained in a computerized system.

Regulatory support

Primary packaging, in particular for parenteral drugs, needs to comply with standards and regulations, as it contributes to the stability and quality of the drug product. SGD Pharma provides Pharma and Biotech companies with all the requested documentation for optimized registration and approval of their products with the Regulatory agencies (Drug Master Files registered at the FDA, quality certificates for each delivery).

Quality to meet pharmaceutical requirements

Cleanliness

All our facilities are equipped with ISO 8 clean rooms. Level of non-viable particles are strictly and regularly monitored. In this clean environment, on-line inspection and packing are performed to deliver compliant vials for patient safety.

Air locks are used for staff and material to transit. The staff is GMP trained and appropriately dressed.

New designs for final users

Thanks to its expertise, SGD Pharma is striving to develop, in partnership with its clients, innovative designs in every type of glass or colour. We develop our packaging solutions responding to specific needs. For example, EasyLyo is a vial dedicated to lyophilization. U Save, U-shaped, is the solution for a complete liquid delivery of high value liquid solutions.

Internal siliconization of the vials, an adding value coating

Internal siliconization allows to maintain a complete transparency of the bottles and allows the patients to use their drug up to the last drop of aqueous solutions respecting the delivered dose of active ingredients.

Customization & Security

Plastic coating & Printing

Plastic coating consists of a thin and protective film of plastic on the bottle; such coating is requested by EU regulations for aerosol bottles. Plastification provides a very efficient protection against mechanical shocks. The security to the user in case of breakage is slightly improved.All colours and aspects like glossy, matte, frosted, clear and opaque are available. With or without plastic coating, our bottles can be decorated with serigraphy using UV ink, at SGD Pharma’s dedicated site.Plastified bottles both preserve the intrinsic qualities of glass, improve patient safety and provide you with an option to tailor for OTC and generics.
