PRODUCT 411 What is it?Model In A Bottle is a setting spray that you apply after you finish doing your makeup. It makes your makeup last all day, gives your skin a smoother appearance, and helps keep the oils on your face from breaking down your make up. The bottle is 2 fluidounces and costs between $18 - $21 (depending on what formula you get).
They describe it as:“Our makeup setting spray is a one-of-a-kind matte finish setting spray, Model In A Bottle holds foundationand eye makeup in place throughout the day and night.”
Jamie’s Verdict...I cannot go to any wedding, photoshoot, or other event without keeping this product in my kit. It really is an amaz-ing product! It especially works well if you are in a hot and humid climate as it prevents your makeup from sliding down to your ankles! I have used this on several brides in all sorts of weather, and their makeup lasted through the ceremony and reception.
My most important test was a bride who booked very last minute and had to be done at 9 in the morning due to al-ready having two other weddings booked. Her wedding wasn’t until 6:00 PM, and after speaking with her wedding planner the next day, I was informed that her makeup liter-ally held up ALL day long! That alone was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders just knowing that there is a product out there that actually works in case I get stuck in a situation like that again!
My only complaint was the smell. It’s pretty strong so I pur-chased the “sensitive” formula just incase any of my brides might be sensitive to strong smells. I also wish the bottle was a bit larger for the price, but I can work with that.
Appication Tips:Make sure to hold the bottle at least six inches away from your face and spritz just 3 - 4 times. Keep your eyes closed for a good 10 seconds before opening so it has time to dry. If needed, fan your face a bit after spraying.

As we all know in the summer the sun, salt, wind and even tanning beds can cause damage to our skin, but it damages our hair as well. There are several things we can do to protect our lus-cious locks from getting sun parched and fading our color!
Preventing the damage before it occurs is your best course of action…
• Wear a hat, scarf or cap (yes even in the tanning bed, wrap a towel around your hair) Covering your hair completely is the best protection.
• Make sure to rinse your hair with tap water before diving in the pool or ocean, also take a water bottle with you to spray your hair before every dip.
• Use products that have UV protection built in, i.e. Paul Mitch-ell’s Color Care line has UV protection in every product.
• If you forget the product, you can always spray your scalp/hair with your regular sunscreen.
• When showering, always try to rinse your hair with COOL water as this helps to seal the cuticle and lock in moisture.
• Using a clarifying shampoo after swimming will wash out any chlorine or salt residue, just be sure you use a conditioner that hydrates and replenishes after.

What? You didn’t take those pre-cautions to prevent the damage?! Excess exposure to the sun can cause keratin degeneration which leaves your hair dried out, discolored and can become even more damaged if not treated. But fear not, as there are products that can help restore your hair back to its luscious state!
One of these amazing products is Paul Mitchell’s new Awapuhi Wild ginger with its revolutionary Keratriplex Treatment. This product treats hair from the inside out by providing internal strength, repair-ing surface damage and providing a protective shield against future damage. Keratriplex is a blend of 3 proteins that penetrate into the cortex to rebuild bonds and reinforce the cuticle. It instantly improves hair quality and texture with noticeable results. The treat-ment reduces breakage up to 80%, improves shine up to 35% and pre-vents color fade up to 67%...making this an excellent product for that sun damaged hair!

MEET THE TEAM | LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Our Makeup Editor is a very experienced, talented, and sought after makeup artist. Her talent is sought by brides all over South Carolina. Not only brides, but big time names such as Playboy! She was the Makeup Artist when they swept through South Carolina looking for “that girl” from the SEC. She’s also done makeup on MTV celebrities. Now, she’s part of Le Rouge’s “Dream Team”. We asked her a few questions, and here’s what she had to say.
Q: How long have you been involved with the art of makeup?
A: I started after I graduated high school around 1998. I remember going to the drugstores buying every cosmetic product possible and using my friend’s faces for just about anything! I would look at magazines and try to duplicate looks. I realized, while doing this, that I was actually good at it. Makeup became a part of me and who I was, and suddenly found myself! It wasn’t until 2003 that I started working at MAC and of-ficially turned it into a career and a dream!
Q: What initially inspired you to get into this field?
A: As sad and crazy as it sounds, low self-esteem is what started it all! I also felt so “Plain Jane” and just wanted to feel “ Beautiful”. I never imaged it would turn into what it is for me today. I receive so much joy out of making other women feel beautiful as well. Makeup can literally change your posture and I find that to be so inspiring!
Q: What other forms of art are you into?
A: I love anything photography! My love for photography began after the birth of my son Preston. I wanted to capture every waking moment of his life. I started to notice that my camera just wasn’t cutting it and went out and bought a D-SLR. Of course I knew nothing about it, but I have slowly been teaching myself. I love every second of it!
Stay tuned for more of Jamie’s amazing makeup talents, as we will delve into majorly artistic makeup shoots.

Stephanie Grace is a graduate of Paul Mitchell The School-Michigan and is now pursuing her career as a Freelance Hair Stylist, Hair Design Editor for Le Rouge Magazine, Salon Owner, and Educator for Paul Mitchell The School-Charleston. This talented stylist started her career in Detriot, Michigan. She transplanted herself to Charleston, SC known as “The Holy City” in 2007. It was in this “happening historic scene” that she began to cultivate what would become her pas-sion, hair. Stephanie has had many opportunities to work on fashion shows, multiple charity events, photoshoots, pageants, tel-evision shows and movies! Having a flair for the beauty industry and being able to educate others has been a very rewarding experience.
Stephanie pursues a very busy career working both at Glow Salon in Summerville and at Paul Mitchell The School
- Charleston, South Carolina. Adding to this she is always lending her time and experience to projects outside of the salon. She believes “There are many avenues for success for you in this amazing industry if you have the passion and the drive. You never Know where life will take you. Don’t give up. Follow your dreams!” It’s no wonder women are ripping out pages from magazines and speed dialing her number for an appointment. Finally, a Hair Stylist you can trust and depend on.
We did a Q&A session with her and here’s what we asked...
STEPHANIE GRACEHAIR DESIGN EDITOR
16 Le Rouge
Q: How long have you been involved in the hair industry?
A: About 5 years.
Q: What got you involved in this industry?
A: I have always had a passion for hair so, I finally decided to follow my heart when I was laid off from the Automotive Industry for the last time.
Q: What artistic techiques do you like us-ing when doing hair? Have you come up with your own technique that has been picked up by other stylists?
A: I have not come up with my own technique...yet! However, I have been lucky enough to have learned so many different things through all my experiences and there is sill so much more to learn! There is one technique that I love, it’s called
“ric rac”, it’s definitely not your everyday styling technique. It gives an awesome texture to the hair! Very cool for that avant garde editorial shoot!

Beautiful Mourning, was a shoot we wanted to do for a very long time. In June, we were able to get a group of very talented people together to bring this dark, romantic shoot to life. We were able to shoot this in a very beautiful, lush, and historical cemetery in Charleston, SC.

Neon strutted onto the fashion scene making its footprint on the runways of Christian Dior, Fendi, Michael Kors and Nina Ricci, just to mention a few famed names. Going Neon is one of the most timeless trends to over indulge because color never goes out of style. Some of the top colors that will be making our summer even brighter are electric teal, bomb-shell blue, luscious pink, glowing orange, hyper green, and citrus yellow and will come in forms of accessories, apparel, and most importantly shoes. Go Neon, add excitement to your style, and make your presence known.
