All One In ChristThroughout the world many Christians
come from different countries, cultures and
walks of life and yet we are all united under
the forgiving power of Jesus. In Romans
10:4, Paul highlights how through the belief
in Christ all are saved and cloaked under
the righteousness of the Lord.
“Christ is the end of the law so that there may berighteousness for everyone who believes”.
God sent Jesus, His Son, so that salvation was
made available to all nations and through our
commitment to Christ we
became brothers and sisters
in the Lord despite our dif-
ferences. In Romans 10:12-
13 Paul argues that al-though there may be earthly
differences between believ-
ers, the heavenly nature of
Jesus does not see these
differences but views be-
lievers equally no matter
what their background.
“For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly
blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone whocalls on the name of the Lord will be saved”.
Recently I was reading „The Heavenly Man‟ the true story of Liu Zhenying or Brother Yun
as he is known by his Christian friends, a Chi-
nese Christian who was called to the Lord
from a poor
village in He-
nan Province to preach the gospel despite the
persecution he faced from the authorities.
Not only did this testimony provide an in-
sight into Christian life in a different coun-
tries but it also emphasises the commonalityin the blessing and power of Christ across
the world.
Although Brother Yun encountered a differ-
ent experience in coming to Christ, all
throughout the book rather than focusing on
his sufferings for following
Jesus, he spoke about the
redeeming power and for-
giving nature of Jesus Christand how through the assis-
tance of Christians both
within and outside of China
more souls are becoming
members of God’s heavenly
family.
In encountering the testimo-
nies of Christians around the world, we as a
family in Christ can learn and be encouraged
through observing the power of God and his
miraculous works in bringing people such as
Brother Yun to the saving arms of Jesus.
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways be
known on earth, your salvation among all na-
tions” Psalm 67:1-3.
