Panasonic HDC-TM40 – Quick Start Guide1

To record a video:1. Set Lens Cover Switch to open.2. Open LCD monitor and Press On/Off Button.3. Set Mode Switch to shooting mode .4. Press Start/Stop button to start and stop recording.

To take a still picture:Press Still Picture Button.

To upload images to a computer: 1. Attach camera to computer with USB cord and press On/Off button.2. Press Enter button.3. An AutoPlay window will open.2 Click on Import Pictures and Videos. 4. Type in a “tag” to name images. The import wizard will import the images into a folder in “My Pictures” labeled with the date and the tag.

To delete all images from the camera (clear the memory): 1. Open LCD monitor and press On/Off button.2. Set Mode Switch to playback .3. Use Navigation Arrows to select ALL.4. Press Delete button.

5. Press Left Arrow to select ALL SCENES.6. Press Enter button.7. Press Left Arrow to select YES.8. Press Enter button again.

To view a video:1. Set mode switch to playback .2. Use Navigation Arrows to select a video.3 3. Press ENTER button. 4. Press Down arrow to return to thumbnails.

To view a still picture: 3. Set Mode Switch to playback .4. Use Left and Down arrows to select Play Icon .5. Press ENTER button.6. Press Left arrow followed by the Down Arrow to select PICTURE.7. Press ENTER button.8. Press MENU button. 9. Use Navigation Arrows to select an image.10. Press ENTER button.11. Press down arrow to return to thumbnails.

To delete a single video or picture:1. While viewing or playing an image, press Delete Button. 8. Press Left Arrow to select YES.9. Press Enter Button.

To use the optical image stabilizer function:4

1. While in shooting mode, press button.2 Press button again to turn O.I.S function off.

To use the video light.5 1. While in shooting mode, press button.

2. Press button again to turn light off.

3 If you don’t see the videos, follow the instruction for viewing a still picture but select iFrame instead of PICTURE.

4 Use the optical image stabilizer function when you are holding the camera in your hand. Do not use it with a tripod.

5 Use the video light in dimly lit places. The subject must be within 1.2 m (3.9 ft) of the camera.
