LCCC Open Additional Hours for Fall Registration Here
For the convenience of students who are registering for the Fall 2021 semester, LCCC will open the All College Voice submissions are due by
12 p.m. the business day prior to each main campus and its two sites on Saturday, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help

LCCC Partners with Northampton to Host FE Summer Program MINUTES
The college hosted nine students on campus Monday who are part of the LCCC/Northampton Board of Trustees
Community College “Futuros Empresarios”/Future Entrepreneurs (FE) summer program, designed President’s Cabinet to promote entrepreneurship among Hispanic and
underserved high school sophomores and juniors. The FE Leadership Team
Program, sponsored by the Fé Foundation, is a five-week Academic Council
summer life skills and entrepreneurial training program
where students can learn skills that will prepare them for
college or to enter the workforce. This is the first year that ENROLLMENT DASHBOARDS

Students will spend time on both the LCCC and Northampton campuses, followed by a four-week

Resource for Information on Identity Theft Recently, there have been numerous cases of identity theft, including unemployment fraud, that
have impacted LCCC employees. For people who have been impacted by unemployment fraud or
any other case of identity theft, information and resources are available.
The site allows anyone to report identity theft and get a recovery plan.
55th Anniversary Stories As we celebrate the 55th anniversary of LCCC, we would like to tell the stories of those individuals,
community partners, students, faculty and staff and others, who have made an impact on LCCC
over the past half century. If you have an influential individual, event, achievement or something
else that you would like to see highlighted in this fall's edition of Aspire Magazine, please send

55th Anniversary and the History of LCCC th The college will celebrate its 55 anniversary this year, with events branded with the theme of
“Together.” The college was officially established and empowered on March 31, 1966, following
approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Education. You can read about those early days and
the men and women who envisioned the community college in William L. F. Schmehl’s “ The
Fruition of an Idea ,” which was written in 1969.

Getting to Know StART: Online Incident Report Training StART is LCCC's online student conduct incident reporting system. All submitted reports are
viewed by the Director of Counseling and Community Standards, the Director of Public Safety and
the Dean of Student Support and Success. In general, you will be contacted by the Director of
Counseling and Community Standards (Brian DeLong) when you submit a report. StART 's mission
is to maintain a healthy, safe environment for all members of the college community. StART is
currently utilized for online reporting of violations of the Code of Student Conduct (Behavior
Concern), violations of the Academic Honesty Policy, injuries that take place during class, and
Public Safety reports. For more information about Community Standards, visit the StART website

Cougar CLAW. We have several available positions for the spring semester. All available jobs are
posted along with a fillable application form. To qualify for the program, students must be enrolled
in at least six credits and have completed a FAFSA for this academic year. All open student jobs

LCCC Announces Spring Dean's List LCCC has announced the students named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2021 semester.
Students with an academic grade point average of at least 3.50 achieve Dean's List status. For a
complete listing of students and their hometowns, visit our website .
A3 Early Alert for Student Success and Retention
A3 EARLY ALERT FOR STUDENT SUCCESS AND RETENTION
The A3 Early Alert was created to provide follow-up for students identified by faculty as having
academic difficulties or other problems that may impact the student’s success. The main objective
of this alert is to create a collegewide proactive approach to assist students with issues early in the
semester to increase the chance of success and retention.
The TOP 4 Things to Do Effectively in A3 Early Alert as FACULTY:
Faculty :
Log into their PORTAL, on the left hand side under LAUNCHPAD, please choose Assist, Advise,
Alert (A3), once you click on it your A3 should come up automatically, you may have to restart your
computer to begin the process from the beginning if it does not work.
When to RAISE an alert or not?
Non-Attendance alert : The first two weeks of the semester for students who do not attend or
log on and/or complete any assignments at all during the first two weeks of the semester or
miss 50% or more of course time (tardiness, leave early, etc.) during the first two weeks of the
semester. ( Student will receive communication email on this alert )
*It is very important that you still report nonattendance in BannerWeb for third week reporting
purposes .
Academic Performance alert : The third week and thereafter for students who are not currently
passing the course for whatever reasons (low/poor grades on test, quiz, and/or homework, non-
participative/engagement, not turning in assignments, incomplete assignments, failed
tests/quizzes, not logged in online course, not logged in Pearson Lab, poor attendance,
excessive absences, excessive tardiness, excessive leave early, etc.) ( Student will receive
communication email on this alert )
Applause alert : Throughout the entire semester to relay positive feedback ( Student will receive
communication email on this alert )
th Midterm alert : An automated alert at midterm (7 week or so) for students who are below a “C”
( Student will receive communication email on this alert )
Refer to Tutoring/Academic Coaching : (Student will not see this alert)
Refer to Disability Support Services : (Student will not see this alert)
Temporary Limitation/Pregnancy/Medical WD : (Student will not see this alert)
Student consult alert : Throughout the entire semester as a top priority to address a high
concern issue that is not related to current alerts above, but such as personal (transportation,
housing, child care, employment conflict etc.), financial, and/or etc. No classroom management
or behavioral, tutoring, disability issues here. (Student will not see this alert)
For best results, alerts should not be raised on students with whom you have already spoken to
or emailed and discussed their non-attendance or academic performance (tardiness,
absenteeism, missing/late assignments, etc.). Also, if you have already alerted the student and
resolved the issue, remember to clear the alert by noting that the instructor spoke to student
after the alert was raised.
2 . Copy/Paste : When using this feature to raise an alert for more than one student, please
review so you are not using the wrong student’s name or sending wrong information as well.
Make sure the right student is receiving the correct information. If you ar sending one alert to
mutiple students, please do not state any student's name.
3 . Let’s keep it simple, detailed, and personalized for each student note : Advisors read and
respond to alerts that are personalized and show that you care and have as much detail
information as needed.
Example 1: Rachel, I am concerned about your attendance, you have missed the last 4 classes, and
I have not heard from you. Are you alright?
Example 2: Student is struggling with fraction and linear equations and has general math
confidence challenges. Student can pass the class if assignments 1 and 3 are submitted within two
weeks.
Example 3: Student recently submitted a Compare & Contrast final draft that was off topic, missing
important elements including MLA format, and did not resemble the two sample essays I provided.
Example 4: Student did not submit his Narrative/Descriptive essay on time a month ago, and I had
to email Student so Student could do so.
Example 5 : I do not think the student is reading instructions, Student is not attending the optional
ZOOM lessons. Student is not submitting first essay drafts for my feedback, and I do not think
student is reading the material and watching the recordings in the modules. I had expressed my
concern about all of this and student replied in email that student would do a better job in future.
This has not been occurring based on the last C & C essay he submitted.
Example 6: I am concerned that Student will not pass the course unless student begins to study
and participate more responsibly.
*Please be aware of notes being sent. Even though students will not see the notes you send, we
want to ensure professional/confidential guidelines with FERPA. These notes will be a part of our
students’ educational records.
To avoid under and/or over-reporting of alerts, the following timetable should be used :
Week 1 and/or 2 – Non-Attendance Alert only
Week 3 and/or 5 – Academic Performance Alert only
*It is very important that you still report nonattendance in BannerWeb for third week reporting
purposes .
Week 7 – Automated Midterm Alert (when you enter “D” or “F” grade in BannerWeb it will
automatically get pulled from A3)
Week 10 – Academic Performance Alert – Last Warning…this is the last week to withdraw from a
course with a “W” or improve progress to success in course.

Nominations Open for 2021 Spirit Awards for both Staff/Administrators and Faculty The LCCC Spirit Committee is inviting nominations for the LCCC Staff/Administrator Spirit Award,
presented for the fourth year, and the LCCC Faculty Spirit Award, which will be presented for the
first time, both at Convocation ceremonies in August.
For the Staff/Administrator award, all regular full- and part-time staff/administrators are eligible,
including both classified and administrative employees. For the Faculty award, full-, part-time and
adjunct faculty are eligible. The Spirit Committee will select one award recipient for each category.
If you notice how hard a colleague works and would like for them to be recognized, we encourage
you to nominate them using this online form for staff/administrators and this online form for
faculty . The following are some of the ways the employee can demonstrate "spirit:"
