everyday. We believe that, when this booklet comes to you, itself was

a miracle.

Being a part of the young generation, we understand the need and

DISCOVER

HANOI, VIETNAM

Vietnam is a S-shaped country located on the eastern margin of the Indochinese peninsula and occupies about 331,211.6

square kilometers. It borders the Gulf of Thailand, Gulf of Tonkin, and Southeast Asia Sea, alongside China, Laos, and

Cambodia.

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, and also its second largest city, located in the Red River Delta, in the center of North Vietnam.

Hanoi means "the hinterland between the rivers" (Ha: river, Noi: interior). Hanoi is embraced by the Red River and some other

rivers flowing through the capital, including Duong, Cau, Ca Lo, Day, Nhue, Tich, To Lich and Kim Nguu. It is a fascinating blend

of East and West, with Chinese influence from centuries of dominance, and French design from its colonial past. It is largely

unspoiled by modern architecture of the 1970s and 80s, and is now going through a modernization that is making it a rising

star in Southeast Asia.

PROJECT Information

Global Passport

The Vietnamese government has identified English

speaking as the key to the country’s future growth

ambitions because of the strong influence of globalization

on its economics, especially employment. In our current

context:

• Effective methods of teaching English are not always

available in public education. A major part of young

Vietnamese cannot communicate well even they

receive English education since secondary school. They

also don't have enough confidence to talk with

foreigners. For them, English is a subject that very

difficult to learn.

• The costs of learning English in language centers with

better methods are not always affordable.

PROJECT INFORMATION

Global Passport is a national project run by all

AIESEC local chapters in Vietnam which aims to enhance

English communication skills, cultural understanding and

self-confidence for students and recent graduates.

Step Out

Nowadays, with globalization trend, the world becomes

closer and flatter than ever. Even though giving the fact

that travelling stands a vital role for personal

development, a part of young people still choose to stay

within their familiar zone and follow the plan that was

decided and well-prepared by their parents. As a result,

the passivity becomes a barrier prevents young people

from living a meaningful life. This is because of the

influence of the family-oriented lifestyle of Vietnamese

ancient customs, which leads to the over-protection

within family and this fact.

At the same time, for other part of young people, they

are taking trips by themselves without good preparation,

proper consideration and self-protection skills.

PROJECT INFORMATION

Step Out is a unique project of AIESEC Hanoi local

chapter with the aim of creating a generation of young

people who dare to step out of comfort zone to see the

world by their own eyes, to discover the world by

themselves and write their own stories. We believe that

"Youth's spirit comes from new experiences".

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Create a cross-cultural, dynamic and friendly environment

for 50 Vietnamese students and 10 – 15 international

students to learn through talk shows, forums, in-door

trainings, out-door trainings, field trips… to

• Provide physical trainings as well as hard skills on

travelling and a one-night-two-day camping trip in

nature to practice survival skills.
