Work Safely

• Remove spark plug wire before servicing• Storing fuel• Oily rags• Hydrogen gas from batteries• Hydraulic pressure

• General Maintenance– Periodic cleaning– Sharpen blade• Hand file• Electric grinder

Storing a Power Mower

• Clean grass bag and hand it up• Clean mower of grass and mud• Remove gas – run engine dry• Drain oil and replace or put tag saying no oil• Put oil (Marvel’s) in cylinder• Leave spark plug lead disconnected• Throttle and choke closed• Lubricate as described by manufacturer• Coat blade with grease to prevent rusting???• Store in cool dry place

Removing a Mower from Storage

• Replace grass bag• Fill crankcase with new oil• Remove plug and spin engine by hand• Clean and oil air filter• Clean oil filter or replace• Fill w/ fuel• Replace spark plug lead• Start engine and let idle till warmed up• Increase engine speed in normal manner• Make test run• If doesn’t start, review troubleshooting chart
