blue to various shades of purple and white.
DESCRIPTIONLavender angustifolia (English lavender) is a small,summer-flowering shrub with downy, linear leaves.
Tiny purple flowers appear on stalks up to 35cm/14intall.

PROPERTIES
An aromatic, tonic herb with sweet scent. It relaxesspasms, benefits the digestion, stimulates the circulationand uterus, and lowers fever.
USES OF THE HERBCulinaryFresh flowers are crystallized or added to jams, icecreams, and vinegar.MedicinalInternally for indigestion, depression, anxiety, tensionheadaches, migraine and bronchial complaints.Externally for burns, sunburn, rheumatism, muscular
pain, cold sores and insect.EconomicOil is used in perfumery and toiletries.
CULTIVATIONWell-drained, neutral to alkaline soil in an open, sunnyposition. Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
Trim hedges and cut specimen plants back in spring toencourage bushiness. Lavender becomes woody withage and are best replaced every 3-4 years.
HARVEST
Flowers are picked as they begin to open and usedfresh, distilled for oil, or dried for use in infusions,spirits, and tinctures
