LAURA BOARD MEETING

1:00 P.M.

1.) The following were present: Mike Altenberger, Amber Horner, Mike and Peggy Krick, Joe McMichael,Tom Bowman, Bob Prater, and Helena Valenti.

2.) Absent was Dianna Baughman.3.) Amber gave the following Treasurer's Report:

Checking Acct. balance $231.76

4.) Amber noted that membership dues for the 2012 year are now due. ($25.00)5.) The program for the month of January to be the continuance of the video, "Secret Space" and a new videotitled "UFO's & the Whitehouse" provided by Bob Prater.

6.) Tom Bowman mentioned he was in new of letters for the sign. He is out of "M" and "W" entirely. He needs8" black letters on clear backgrounds. (Editorsnote: Marcia Prater got them.)

7.) Discussed George Stephens who has been absent with cancer and no one seems to know his whereabouts'.We think he may be in a area Nursing Home. Mike Krick has attempted to contact him.

8.) It was decided any refreshments in the future would be the individuals responsible for themselves.

9.) No report was available on any conferences etc.

10.) Next Club Meeting to be on Jan 15th at 7:00 p.m.

11.) Next Board meeting to be on Monday, Feb. 6th

Clifford Clift Is Stepping Down AsMUFON's International Director

Clifford Clift, International Director of the Mutual UFO Network(MUFON), has announced he will be stepping down as InternationalDirector, effective January 31, 2012.

David MacDonald, member of MUFON's board of Directors

and State Director for Kentucky will replace Clift as International

Director (ID) February 1, 2012. Clift is stepping down as ID due to

personal commitments and family health issues, which will require his full attention. He said, "MUFON needs

a full time ID and he will not be able to provide full time leadership under these conditions".

Clift also said, "I know my limitations and the requirements of time MUFON needs to be successful. Ican't be successful with both." Clift would like to express his deep gratitude to MUFON subscribers / members

for their commitment in seeing that MUFON achieves the fulfillment of its goals and thanks everyone for their

continued support over the past two years. Cliff goes on to assure, "MUFON has come a long way in a positive

direction and I'm excited to say that the Mutual UFO Network is in good hands with David. His level of

dedication and his leadership skills will be an incredible benefit to our organization. David will be a very

effective International Director for MUFON." David MacDonald is no stranger to MUFON and the

organization's mission. David is currently on MUFON's Board of Directors, Assistant Director of

Investigations, MUFON's Star Team Administrator, the conductor of testing for new Field Investigators and

much more.

As a business man, over the years David has had numerous successful businesses. Currently, he runs a

school for Pilots and Aircraft Dispatchers. Additionally, he owns and runs Flamingo Air, a Charter

Airline. Clifford continued his praise, "David MacDonald has excellent credentials within MUFON and the

business world. David's business background and knowledge of the UFO phenomenon is very sound and

successful. He brings much to the table as the new leader for MUFON. "

When asked how David felt about taking over the position of MUFON's International Director, he said, "I'm

excited about taking over the leadership role of MUFON and I'm looking forward to working with all the great

people in the MUFON organization." David will move MUFON International Headquarters

to Cincinnati,Ohio, where he operates Global Airline Education Center and Campus. Being centrallylocated, the International Headquarters will be easily accessible to many more members. Cincinnati is within a

6 hour drive for 60% of the population of the United States.

The location will have high visibility to pilots and many perspective new MUFON members in the aviation

industry as well as increased exposure to the general public which will be a real benefit. MUFON will have

room for office space, storage on site, and a walk-in merchandise store.

We ask everyone to have patience during this transition period. Keep your eyes on the sky and let's all

welcome Mr. David MacDonald as MUFON's new International Director!

(Editors note: FYI, Flamingo Airlines operates out ofLunken Airport my guess is that is where the MUFON

headquarters will be.)

1st weekend in August: MUFON International Symposium, Covington, KY.

FromKathleen Mardenswebsite, it looks like the 2012 International MUFON Symposium will be held inCovington, Kentucky. (August 3rd 5th?)

At this time I havent seen any details of the location or who will be the guest speakers.


Tyrone, Georgia -- At about 7 PM on January 15, 2005, I was takingout the trash and noticed an extremely bright light. It was brighterthan any stars or planes in the sky. I called my wife and we watched it

for ten minutes before grabbing our cameras. We ended up watchingthe object and taking pictures for 40 minutes or so. We live close tothe Atlanta airport and several planes came close to the object. Afterlooking at our pictures and video we noticed the object was discshaped but the object changed shape. Around 7:40 PM, the objectdimmed and slowly moved out of site. I used a Canon 50D and my

wife used a Nikon D90. This was definitely out of the ordinary. - MUFON database.

Air Force UFO Rules Vanish After Huffington Post Inquiry

The military deleted a passage about unidentified flying objects from a 2008 Air Force personnel manual justdays after The Huffington Post asked Pentagon officials about the purpose of the UFO section.

Before the recent revisions, the document -- Air Force Instruction 10-206 -- advised pilots, radar operators andother Air Force personnel on what to do when they encountered any unknown airborne objects. Now in the2011 version, the reference to UFOs -- which simply means "unidentified flying objects," not necessarilyspaceships with little green men -- has been eliminated.

What makes this so intriguing is that the U.S. government officially stopped investigating UFOs in 1969 withthe termination of the Air Force'sProject Blue Book.

Editors note: The reference here isnt associated with the common belief that Unidentified Flying Objects areextraterrestrial. Many foreign countries have adopted the term Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP), but youcan see the U.S. governments continued dissociation with UFOs at all levels.

Table of UFO shapes, from the classic book"Unconventional Flying Objects"by Paul Hill (a NASA/NACAengineer who developed an interest in UFOs in the 1950s after having two sightings of his own and privatelystudied UFOs for years). His list of UFO shapes, above, did not include the very large V-shaped (boomerang /crescent), the triangular and the smaller triangular/pyramid UFOs. Those were quite rare in the 1950s - 1970s,when Paul Hill collected data and wrote his book, but became very common in the 1980s and beyond (there are

several documented sightings of very large black triangular UFOs even in the 1960s, so it's not a contemporaryphenomenon).
