Overview

THE PROGRAM

The program will provide grants to small businesses in retail and service-related

industries to support rental costs, including both current and overdue rent

payments. The grant is intended to mitigate the injury experienced by Montgomery

County businesses as a result of the pandemic.

AWARD VALUE

Although not everyone who applies may be granted an award, qualifying businesses

can receive up to $10,000 in rental assistance or three months of rent,

whichever is less.

TIMELINE

Application period: May 17, 2021, 11:00 AM/ET – May 24, 2021, 5:00 PM/ET

Award Notifications Expected: Mid-June 2021

Award Disbursements Expected: End of June 2021

Eligibility

ELIGIBILITY

NOTE: Restaurants, food service businesses, medical practices, professional services,

religious organizations, and daycare businesses are ineligible, per county guidelines.

ELIGIBILITY (cont.)

GEOGRAPHY

❖ Business must have a physical location(s) in the county; OR

❖ County-based locations account for more than 50% of the business’s total number

of employees; OR

❖ County-based locations account for more than 50% of business's gross sales.

❖ Business must have an active commercial lease in Montgomery County

❖ Must have received $500,000 or less in annual revenue in 2019.

❖ Revenue loss due to COVID-19 will be determined by a standardized Program

Formula based on analysis of the financial data and records provided as part of the

application.
