WELCOME I am delighted to welcome you all to the Anglo Latin American Foundation Latin American Fair and Fiesta. I hope you have a great day enjoying the wonderful food and other Latin American products on offer. Latin America provides the world with so much excellent food and lovely handicrafts, so having them all here today under one roof is very exciting. And I hope you will all be here this evening to enjoy our fabulous Latin American fiesta with fantastic food and music.

I have just taken over as the new Chairman of ALAF. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to help such a worthwhile organisation. There are many ties of friendship and goodwill between the UK and Latin America. By acting as an umbrella for all the Anglo Latin American bilateral societies, ALAF can help those societies achieve their goals of raising money to help disadvantaged children across Latin America. We all know that many children are in need in the region, and we know how much enthusiasm there is here in the UK to help. By coordinating activities between the bilateral societies, and holding events such as this Fair, ALAF is helping to raise funds which can greatly improve the lives of many needy children in the region.

Have a great time at this Fair and please eat and buy as much as you feel able to do. The money you spend today will all go to a good cause! And please buy lots of raffle tickets - the prizes are excellent!
