Hi, I’m Cabana a beautiful kitty decorated in delicate shades of peach and gray. How does a nice, friendly girl like me wind up homeless on the streets of Troy? I like to “talk”, so perhaps one day after I have settled into your home and feel safe and secure I will tell you all

about it. I’ve had lots of admirers already, so if I might be “the one” for you, better hurry!

Hi, I'm Able and I am The Man! I am still a young guy so I'm working hard on my

manners. But if you are looking for a loyal companion than I'm the one for you. Come and meet me and see if we are meant to be!

Albany, NY (July 31, 2012) –Do you have a love for animals and want to support a great local cause? Join with the Gold-stein Auto Group and bring your empty bottles and cans to a Goldstein dealership and support the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s “Empties For Animals” campaign helps support the mission of the organization, includ-ing sheltering, adoption, education, advocacy and the preven-tion of cruelty to animals. This year’s goal is to raise $125,000, in honor of the Society’s 125th Anniversary. To reach the goal, the Goldstein Auto Group will need to collect more than 1,500,000 cans and bottles. The 2012 "Empties For Animals” campaign has raised over $46,000 during the first half of this year, an increase of $12,000 or 34% over the same period last year. The 2011 campaign raised a total

of more than $74,000 and collected 925,000 cans and bottles. Volunteers sorted all those bottles and cans, based on the originating distributor, which in turn generated $.08 per can or bottle instead of the regular $.05 redemption fee paid at stores. Monies from the program were used to benefit the more than 6,500 animals cared for by the Society in 2011. “We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and support the 2012 “Empties For Animals” campaign. We would like to thank all of our custom-ers and the members of the community who have generously donated to such a worthy cause,” said Alan Goldstein, President of Goldstein Auto Group.

Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me, herein you are my mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth! The New Scot-land Historical Association is looking for volunteers to staff the New Scotland Historical Asso-ciation Museum for two hours on occasional Sundays. All museum volunteers receive training and will work with an experienced volunteer for their first few times. Come join an active com-munity organization dedicated to preserving the history of the Town of New Scotland for future generations. We present educational programs during the winter and spring months as well as preserving items in our museum. The Association has been preserving, protecting and promoting an appreciation of local history and heritage in the Town for over 40 years. Sjögren’s Syndrome Awareness WalkaboutCOLONIE – The National Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation along the Sjögren’s area Support Group and patients are joining in an effort to fight the mysterious chronic disease Sjögren’s (pronounced SHOW-GRINS) syndrome at the 2nd Annual “Awareness Walkabout”. The Aware-ness Walkabout will be held at Colonie Center Mall in Colonie on Sat., October 13. Use the mall entrance near Cinema’s and proceed to Center Court. Registration will begin at 10am; Indoor Walk Steps off at 11:15am Sjögren’s syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the white blood cells attack the moisture producing glands. Approximately 10% of its victims will develop Lymphoma, a form of cancer. Due to lack of awareness, it takes on average over 5 years from onset of symptoms to diagnosis. All proceeds from the “Walkabout” will go directly to the Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation, the only non-profit health organization dedicated solely to Sjögren’s syndrome to fund research and awareness initiatives. For more information about Sjögren’s Syndrome and how you can participate in the Capital Region Walkabout, please call the Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation at 800-475-6473. www.sjogrens.org or www.sjogrenswalk-about.org Day of event contact number: 518-469-4984.
