As we live and work in this new Covid-19 environment, students will continue to be welcomed back on campus and into training facilities, as long as their teachers can comply with workplace checklists outlined in the TasTAFE COVID-19 Safety Plan. All TasTAFE sites are now open to students and the public, subject to the following three conditions: room capacities are adhered to at all times 1.5m separation between people is adhered where possible shared equipment is sanitised between uses. This also includes the use of learning hubs, libraries, student common areas and cafeterias. What does the rest of 2020 look like?As we live and work in this new Covid-19 environment, students will continue to be welcomed back on campus and into training facilities, as long as their teachers can comply with workplace checklists outlined in the TasTAFE COVID-19 Safety Plan. All TasTAFE sites are now open to students and the public, subject to the following three conditions:

Apprentice training – delivery methodsAttached is a table outlining the delivery methods TasTAFE is offering for apprentice groups between now and the end of the year. Apprentices will continue to have a combination of on-campus small group training, workplace projects, online theory, distance learning and workplace visits.Not all apprentice groups are listed on this table, so if you have any questions or concerns about the delivery of training for your apprentice, or there has been no recent communication about training dates, please contact your apprentice’s Portfolio Manager as your first point of call.

Infection control trainingTo support the re-opening of customer-facing businesses nationwide in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Government and state and territory governments have established an $80 million Infection Control Training Fund to fast-track fee-free infection control training. TasTAFE will be providing up to 1000 free places state-wide for the following three skill sets beginning in October 2020:

HLTSS00065 Infection control Skill Set (Retail) HLTSS00066 Infection control Skill Set (Food Handling) HLTSS00067 Infection control Skill Set (Transport and Logistics).

Support for apprentices If your apprentice is struggling with literacy or numeracy in your workplace, or is having problems with their course work, don’t forget that TasTAFE offers free face-to-face and online study support sessions to help your apprentice. Let your apprentices know that they can request online study support by calling 1300 655 307 or via our Study Support request form available from www.tastafe.tas.edu.au/connect.
