Late archiving with bar code
Late archiving with bar code describes a process in which a
scanned document is archived
after the corresponding business transaction has been entered
into the SAP system.
The scanning application reads or creates a bar code for each
document. When Common
Store archives a document, it sends the bar code of the document
to SAP.
SAP stores the bar code in a barcode table. !t then chec"s if a
corresponding business
transaction e#ists in the SAP system. !t does this by loo"ing
for a business ob$ect that
contains a matching bar code. !f such a business ob$ect e#ists,
a lin" to the archived document
is inserted in it. %inally, the bar code is deleted from the
table. The lin" allows to open and
view the archived document from the SAP &'!.
Customizing SAP for late archiving with
bar code
(n the SAP side, you must change the following settings before
you can use late archiving
with bar code.
