He has to do some short stepping to keep up with it. The sand and gravel with'cement wTTl be on the lot Saturday for the Keystone Community Hall. The foundation will be run Sunday, and it will ba a matter of a few short weeks when we will open the doors to a real community hall, where everybody can feel at home. The chamber of commerce is growing steadily. New members are joining the ranks, among them this week being the Torrapce/chamber of commence and the Torrance Busi- ness Men's association. The next year will see r/any improvements in bur district clue to the activities of the cafe. Come to the meetings, whether you are a member or not. You are welcome, and at liberty to talk and say what you wish. The regular meeting will be held at Mrs. Sleppy's tomorrow evening, Saturday, January 6, at 8 o'clock. CATHOLIC LADIES' CARD PARTY The ladies of the Altar Society will givs the first of a series of card parties next Monday night. January 8, in Catholic Hall. Re- freshments will be served and six nice prizes awarded, all for the small sum of thirty-five cents. The game will start promptly at 8 p. m., so come early and avoid the rush. On Saturday, McKinley Home made Torrance look like a bunch of 'beginners at football, taking them down to the tune of 31 to 0. But Monday was different. Torrance started In the flret quarter wth triple pass, which resulted In touchdown. This happened In about four minutes. Torrance made two in the second quarter, this making three put over the line by "Clam" Mills. Tom perklns kicked two of these over the post, making twenty points. Three were tallied in the third quarter, making thirty-eight points, and the two Tom got over the post, making forty. Torrance started off in the fourth with one touchdown, which was all she got. Torrance got a surprise when Travis of the Home snagged a pass and made a touchdown. Stepp then booted it over the posts. The game ended in a few minutes after this. The stars for the day were "Clam" Mills, Dale Gipe, Charlie Poole, and Perkins. Final score 46 to 7. tees of the Los Angeles Council will tender a banquet to all troop leaders (Troop committeemen, Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmas­ ters, Acting Scoutmasters, the Scout Commissioner and the Deputy Scout Commissioners).

Those who attended the banquet last year will recall that it was a joyous and significant occasion. It will be vastly more so this year. Don't fail to transfer your troop meeting to Thursday night and oth­ erwise arrange your affairs so that you will be able to attend this im­ portant event. You will receive a special invitation from the Board of Trustees about a week before the banquet. A prompt reply will be greatly appreciated.
