Awesome Art (4th/5th only) - Discover the world of col-or with your paintbrush! Learn basic art strokes, tech-niques, and appreciation for God, our Master Artist. (For beginners-intermediate knowledge)

Be a Composer (4th/5th only) - Write your own song. Learn how to put notes, rhythms, and words together.

Be Our Guest - Have fun learning basic etiquette skills like napkin folding, table setting, arranging flowers, hand shaking, and thank you notes.

Bible Journaling –Engage more freely with the Word of God in new ways by recording personally inspiring scrip-tures in creative and artistic ways.

Boomwhackers - Play songs and do activities with these long, colorful & fun percussion tubes.

Boys’ Boot Camp for Jesus (boys only) - Explore Jesus and His Handiwork hands on as you learn some fun sports techniques and other physical activities.

CKV (4th/5th only) - Learn how to make a real music video both in front of and behind the camera. Write, produce, act in, shoot and edit your own music video.

Creative Cakes - Learn basic cake decorating techniques with hands on experience including fondant, piping tech-niques and decorating your own individual cake.

Duct Tape Designs - Create fun and useful items with a sticky twist. We will be using colored and patterned Duct Tape to make wallets, bows, bow ties, and more!

Fishing, Faith, and Fun - A Bible based fishing program that teaches basic fishing skills including casting, reeling, equipment selection, and education on conservation, environment and fishing regulations. Includes classroom and hands-on fishing instruction.

Geocache - A high tech outdoor treasure hunt for all ages! Learn to use a GPS to locate and hide "geocaches" or "caches".

Guitar A - Learn the basics of playing the guitar. You will need to provide your own guitar or rent one for the week (we have info. available)

Guitar B - For those who know the “basics” and want a little more! You will need to provide your own guitar or rent one for the week (we have info. available)

Harp A (2nd//3rd) - Make a harp and learn the basics of playing harp.

Harp B (4th/5th only) - For those who are interested in learning to play the harp and can read sheet music. You will learn the basics of the Harp and a song to perform.

In Stitches A - (For those who have little to no machine sew-ing experience). Learn to sew the basics; buttons, hems, and make a project to take home.

In Stitches B - (For those with some experience using a sew-ing machine) Expand your sewing knowledge & skills.

Keyboard Skills A - Learn to identify every key on the piano and play some simple songs.

Keyboard Skills B - For those who know the notes on the keyboard and have previous keyboard experience

Let’s Move! - A choreography/movement class learning a song for our mini-musical/Family Night. Must attend Fami-ly Night on Thursday night to participate.

Lights! Camera! Action! - A drama class to develop and stretch your acting 'muscles' through games, improv & group exercises. The perfect class for those with big imagi-nations, who aren't afraid to have fun and look a little silly!

Music in Motion - Learn fun and exciting ways to exercise to high-energy Christian music-march, jump, race, punch, pump, and stretch to the beat and improve your health.

No Business Like Show Business - Learn the skills needed to be a "triple threat" in Musical Theatre: singing, acting, and choreography.

Orff & Drum - Play different kinds of xylophones and drums including congas, ocean drums, djembes, etc.

Origami - Learn the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. Using an ordinary piece of paper, this class will be making airplanes, birds, flowers, and everything in between!

Pampered Hearts for Jesus! (girls only) - Create crafts to pamper your outward beauty while you allow Jesus to beautify your heart.

Party with a Purpose - Create a party everyone will adore! You will learn to use stamping, paper piecing, and other creative mediums to make invitations, decorations, and party favors for an unforgettable party experience.

Ready,Set,Build! - Drill, Saw and Paint your way to creating theatrical sets and props that will be used to support the Family Night Presentation. Say Cheese (4th /5th only) - Learn the basics of photography and get some hands on experience using the art of photog-raphy to deliver a message and bring glory to God.

Scrapbooking - Learn creative techniques to scrapbook your pictures with many different kinds of fun tools.

Sign Language – Learn the alphabet, numbers, colors, animals, vocabulary and a song using sign language.

Stampin’ & Smiles - Learn how to make cards, candles, notebooks and more using different stamping techniques.

STOMP! - Create music with your body and everyday items that become your instruments.

Super Scientist - Hands on lab time that teaches our world is wonderfully made and designed by God. He is the ulti-mate scientist - all the processes on Earth are His creation.

Tangled - Make some fun yarn & string crafts for yourself & friends.

Violin A - (Completed 4th/5th Grade with 0-1 year experi-ence) Learn about the violin and play a simple melody. Will need to bring your own violin (we have rental info)

Violin B - (Completed 5th grade with 1 year of lessons) Work on a duet to play with another violinist. Will need to bring your own violin (we have rental info)

Vocal Skills - Learn how to use your voice as you sing and improve your vocal strength and sound quality. Grades 4/5 will perform a song for Family Night.

We Got Spirit (girls only) - Ready?! Okay! Join us for a cheerleading class to learn a few cheers and some basic stunting techniques. Be ready to cheer your heart out!

What’s Cooking? (4th/5th only) - Experiment with basic techniques of cooking and prepare some of your favorites.

Wrap up Christmas in July! - Help children in need around the world! Make small instruments, write notes & pack shoeboxes to support the ministry of Operation Christmas Child. Learn to play the tin whistle too!

Plugged In! (5th Grade only) - If you have participated in SummerSing for at least 2 years and would like to be con-sidered for a position on our tech team, please be sure to answer “yes” to the Plugged In! question on your registra-tion. If you are selected for a spot on the “Plugged In!” team, this will take the place of one of your choice classes and will prohibit you from accepting an auditioned special part (solo/drama/choreography). All tech team members must attend Family Night on Thursday, 7/20.

The cost of Friday’s lunch is included in your registration. We will serve pizza & a drink.

Monday-Thursday lunch may be purchased separately as part of your online registration or lunch may be brought from home.

Menus for the week will be provided on the online registration.

If you plan to bring lunch from home, label clearly with your child’s first and last name.

Daily snacks will be provided as part of your registration. Once set, the list of snacks will be posted as a link on the SummerSing web page www.idlewild.org/SummerSing.

The focus of SummerSing Worship Arts Camp is to provide many different activities for exploring and learning musical, worship & arts concepts at age-appropriate levels. Children participate in various classes such as Choir & Musical Games as well as special interest classes for further enrichment. Although they will present a musical presentation on Thursday, July 20, the main emphasis is on learning, discovering, and experiencing the arts that can be used in Worship and Praise in a fun way. We offer children an opportunity to experience many different ways to serve the Lord! SummerSing is designed for those with an interest in music and/or one of the arts offered.

This week will be filled with musical and arts activities such as guitar, musical games, vocal skills, and drama as a part of a mini-musical experience. Participants will be learning songs from the musical “Not Your Average Joe” They will present the songs they learn along with some drama from this presentation on Thursday, July 20th for Parents’ Night. They will also be sharing what they have done in their classes at this time. On Friday, they will have a fun half day to play some games and help their team in the challenges of that day. Earning team points and devotions are also part of the week.

Auditions for a special part (solo or drama) in the mini-musical presented on Parents’ Night will be on Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30pm in Room #A214 in the Children’s Building (if you can’t make this date you must contact us BEFORE June 20 to make arrangements for a makeup audition). Audition information will be sent to you if you request it at registration. Students must attend Family Night, Thursday, July 20, in order to receive a part. Also note that children given a special part will have a rehearsal for that part that will take the place of one class choice.
