"Triumph" This is an inspiring documentary that con-
veys to the world the Blessed Virgin's mes-
sage of peace and conversion. It was filmed
in Medjugorje in the heart of Bosnia-
Herzegovina by Sean Bloomfield and Zaid
Jazrawi, professional film-makers and has
the power to touch hearts. Reviews indicate
it also has the potential to be a powerful tool
for evangelization around the world, espe-
cially among the young. All are encouraged
to attend with family and friends. Ticket
prices are $12.00 for adults (18 and over)
and $6.00 for youth. Please check the notice
boards for theatres, dates, times and audi-
ence testimonials.
Capital Campaign Collection We thank everyone for your continued support
towards our Renovation Projects. Your donations
to the Monthly Capital Campaign is what funds
them and we ask you to be as generous as you
can so that we can see them completed soon.
Mass for the Commemoration and Dedication of the Stained
Glass windows and their donors. We invite the parish to join us at the celebration of the Eucharist on November 28th, 2013 at 7:00pm in which those who adopted the restoration of the stained glass windows will be present in order to dedicate and bless the win-dows during this mass. For every restored window there will be a dedi-cation plaque recognizing those who generously adopted the cost of the work. Many of these windows will be dedicated in memory of a family member or friend, a very fitting thing to do during the month of Novem-ber. Following the mass we will be hav-
ing a social in the parish hall and every-one attending will be invited to join us. We still have some stained glass windows that need restoration and we welcome anyone who may be interested in adopt-ing them. Please contact the pastor in or-der to find out more information.
Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
A Small Person: There are people who keep searching for higher values in life. Perhaps one
is only half satisfied with the kind of life one is leading, or feels guilty about his or her way of
life. The Gospel of today shows us a small man, literally and morally, in search of the Lord.
To his surprise, Jesus sees the hunger in the man’s heart and turns to him. Jesus wishes to
encounter him. If we ourselves recognize our smallness, the Lord will show himself to us, and
invite himself to go with us and to stay with us. He will make us great in love and goodness.

THANK YOU ST. JUDE’S PARISH
The Feast of St. Jude last Monday, October 28th was without a doubt a
blessed evening for our parish. The presence of our Regional
Bishop, John A. Boissonneau brought us to a time and a place
where we could see our place and our connection with the universal
church. I want to thank the parishioners who generously gave their
time and talent in order for all of us to have a day to celebrate our patron
S t . Jude. The Celebration of the Eucharist brings all the ministries to life: Al-
tar Servers, Lectors, Eucharistic ministers, Ushers, Sacristans, Music ministry and
those who help in other quiet ways, Thank you for your commitment and service. To all
the parishioners who brought the incredible number of plates of food to share. We had
an abundance of choices and those who gathered, who were by far more than any other
time, felt our hospitality. Thank you everyone and we pray that St. Jude may intercede
in all our needs and help us be grateful for the blessings received. Rev. Efren Alvarez Pelayo

Confirmation Program We are now ready to begin the Regis-
tration process for Confirmation. Par-
ents who have asked for an interview
with the pastor to discuss this sacra-
ment will be receiving a call from one of the priest’s
shortly. We remind those living outside of the parish
boundaries to seek the assistance of your own pas-
tor. Our First Step will begin the week of November
18th. This step includes a short meeting with the pastor
in which you will receive instructions regarding regis-
tration and the calendar for the year. Parents are re-
minded that the actual classes start in January. Prepara-
tion meetings will take place in the course of November
and part of December. In the meantime, please be sure
that no plans have been made regarding the sponsor
until requirements have been given to you by the pastor
at the first meeting. Please expect a call from the office
starting this Monday. There will be plenty of options to
suit your schedule.
First Communion Program We remind parents of the importance of attending Sun-
day Mass (Saturday vigil mass included) during this
time of preparation of your children. Our Sessions have
started and we remind you that group
two will have their first session next Sat-
urday, November 9, 2013 from 10am-
12pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early as
the class starts at 10am sharp. We also
remind you that information is given at
the church both in our bulletin as well as
from the pulpit at all weekend masses.
R.C.I.A. Program We ask the parishioners to pray for those who have
sought to enter the doors of the Catholic Faith this year.
We pray not only for those who were ready to start the
process but, especially for those who, for reasons be-
yond their control and ours, could not be included in
this year’s R.C.I.A. program. This process sometimes
takes longer for some brothers and sisters and we will
walk with them for as long as it takes. This Monday,
November 4th, our Orientation Session will take
place at 7:00pm. The classroom will be confirmed
when you arrive at the office.
Altar Servers Children who have celebrated
their First Holy Communion (8
years old and up) are welcome to
join the altar servers ministry.
All we require is that the child’s
parent makes this known to the
priest and show up 20 minutes before the
mass begins. We ask that the child serves
at the mass he or she attends normally.
The training begins simultaneously and
the children train gradually during mass.
We remind the Altar servers who have
received the Altar Server Award that it
is expected that they wear the medal at
all masses they serve.
My Offering,
Sacrifice & Support As part of our belonging to the Com-
munity of St. Jude’s Parish, we
continue to remind our pa-
rishioners of our common
responsibility to provide
support to our parish so that its doors
continue to be open to us when we
need it. We particularly remind
those who do not use envelopes that
it is now expected for anyone seek-
ing services of the Church to identify
themselves as members of the parish
through the use of envelopes.
Please Help us Help the Poor St. Vincent de Paul Society of
St. Jude’s asks for your help. We are
in desperate need of the following
items: Rice (2kg and less), canned
soup, peanut butter, jam, pasta sauce,
canned fish and meat. We thank eve-
ryone for your help in meeting the
needs of the less fortunate in our area.
Items can be brought to the parish
during office hours.
Thank you Our kneelers and altar furniture have
been refurbished and look much more
fitting and feel much more comfortable.
This project was made possible by
Gaspare and Santina Milana who
have been working tirelessly to com-
plete as much as they could for the feast
of St. Jude. Also, we thank the group
of men who have been removing and
reinstalling the kneelers for the past
few weeks.
Handy People Needed Anyone wishing to join
the group people who
will be giving their time
and skills in the areas of
ground maintenance, painting,
woodwork and more, are most wel-
come to do so by calling the pastor
and leaving their name and phone
number in extension (104) or sign
up on the sheet provided at both
entrances of the
church and the sac-
risty. The pastor will
contact you as soon as
the projects begin.
