The control curve of Larox pinch valves isnearly linear which corresponds to a wideand accurate control range.

The only wearing part of the Larox Valveis the elastic sleeve. It can be replacedusing standard tools without special trainingor costly machining operations. Periodic

The standard range of Larox Valve solutions is for diameters 25 mm – 1000 mm, temperatures –50 °C –+160 °C, and pressures 0 – 100 bar. The applicability and performance of Larox Valves is dependenton these three basic elements and the process conditions. In co-operation with the customers Larox canengineer a solution to solve problems in applications outside the standard Larox product range.

Larox Valve sleeve– the heart of the Larox Valve

The valve sleeve is the only part in contactwith the product flow. The selection of thesleeve material is very essential to guaran-tee the best wear resistance and longestlifetime for the valve sleeve and a trouble-free function of the process.

Larox Valve sleeves have a thick wearresistant inner lining, several textile re-inforcing cord layers and a wear resistantouter surface. The process conditions suchas pressure class, application, medium,and temperature determine the finalselection of the valve sleeve material.

The standard Larox sleeve is suppliedwith positive opening tags. The opening

tags are particularly suited to applicationswith low pressures, high temperatures,andvacuum conditions as well as in situationswhere the valve has been closed for a longerperiod of time.

The Larox Valve sleeves are availablein many grades of elastomers from wearresisting natural rubber to various rubbercompounds developed to combat thearduous conditions in chemical processing.

Early detection sleeve

Larox SensoMate is an early detectionsleeve, which will signal locally or at thePLC when the sleeve is beginning to wear.The SensoMate sleeve has a steel meshvulcanised between the wear layer and

the reinforcement cords of the sleeve. De-terioration of the inner wear layer of thesleeve allows the fluid to contact the wiremesh. This creates a change in conductivitybetween the pipeline and the wire mesh.The change in conductivity will be detectedthrough SensoMate alarm and is indicatedlocally or communicated to the PLC.

Special sleeve designs are also avai-lable for control service, throttling, vacuumand high temperature applications.

Larox pinch valves and sleeves aremanufactured in accordance with ISO9001 quality specifications.

Larox pinch valves have been operated in highly abrasive or aggressive service for tens and hundredsof thousands of opening/closing cycles with no loss of the original tight shut-off capability and controlcapacity. The valve construction allows the valve to operate reliably after being in a closed or openposition for prolonged periods with crystallising media; the opening and self cleaning properties of theLarox Valve remain unchanged.

Applications with abrasive media

The process temperature may temporarily exceed the maximum sleeve temperature without any affects in the sleeve construction and operating properties.

The final selection of the rubber material quality depends on the application, flowing medium and the mechanical stress.

The open body construction is designedfor applications with relatively low pressuresand low temperatures when the flowingmedium is non-hazardous. The open bodyconstruction is light and it is very easy toaccess for service. The available valve diameters beginwith 80 mm. The standard body materialis mild steel, but AISI316 bodies can alsobe delivered upon request. The open body tolerates misalignmentand vibration.

In the enclosed body construction, thevalve sleeve is covered by the bodyhousing, which protects the sleeve fromthe environment and sunlight. The availablebody materials are cast iron/mild steel,aluminium, plastic and AISI316............

PVE/SA special model ofthe enclosed bodyconstruction PVE/Sis designed for appli-cations where fugitiveemission protectionis specified.The valve body isequipped with a tapin the lower half ofthe body with athreaded AISI316 plug. Additionally,available is a gauge indicating the pressurechanges in the valve body.

The sealed body construction is designedfor applications where no leakage of theflowing medium through the valve bodyis allowed to the environment. The PVSmodel has proved especially successful inhigh pressure applications due to theextremely resistant body construction. Thesealed body can be equipped with analarm or piping to ensure that the sleeverupture can be noticed immediately. The PVS structure has no rising partsoutside the body. The body materials can be chosenfrom cast iron/mild steel, aluminium orAISI316.......

The manual valves are equipped with ahandwheel actuator. The screw mechanismof the manually operated valves is totallyenclosed, and thus protected against dirtand corrosion to ensure reliable operation.

The large diameter manual valves and thevalves used in high-pressure applicationscome equipped with a reduction gear toease the operation. Manual valves canalso be fitted with a chain wheel andextended stem.

Pneumatic actuator with manualoverride (AB)

The valve can be equipped with a manualoverride to ensure that in malfunctionsituations such as a loss of air supply thevalve can be closed with the handwheel.

Pneumatic actuator with pneumaticspring (AU)

The pneumatic spring ensures that the valvecan be opened or closed if the supplypressure is suddenly not available. Thevalve can be opened or closed only oncein the malfunction situation and the functionis dependable for 1 - 2 days.

The pneumatic spring can be operatedthrough a separate or an integrated airtank.

Pneumatic actuator with mechanicalspring (AV)

Single acting pneumatic actuator providedwith a mechanical spring to close or openthe valve.

The pneumatic actuator is a double actingcylinder. The standard supply pressure forthe pneumatic cylinder is min. 6 bar. Thecylinder size is determined according tothe process line pressure. The pneumatic actuator is also availablein special materials for aggressive conditions.

Pneumatic actuator withpneumatic positioner (AN)

The standard pneumatic positioners in theLarox Valves are Posiflex positioners. Thestandard incoming signal is 0.2 - 1 barand the increasing signal closes the valve.

Pneumatic actuator withelectro-pneumatic positioner (AK)

The standard electro-pneumatic positionersare Posiflex positioners. The standardincoming signal is 4-20 mA and theincreasing signal closes the valve.....

The hydraulic actuator is a double actingcylinder. The standard supply pressure forthe hydraulic cylinder is min. 150 bar.The final cylinder size is determined ac-cording to the line pressure.

The standard cylinder is equipped witha pilot operated check valve, which keepsthe valve in position when hydraulic pressureis not available.

Hydraulic actuator withelectro-hydraulic positioner (HP)

For demanding flow control the hydraulicactuator can be delivered with an electro-hydraulic positioner. The standard incomingsignal for the electro-hydraulic positioneris 4-20 mA.

The Larox Valve product range includesalso hydraulic power packs to actuate thehydraulic valves. Tailor made solutions areavailable upon customer requests.

The standard electromechanical actuatortypes are AUMA Norm SA-series andRotork IQ-series actuators equipped withbuild-in limit switches and manual hand-wheel. The standard voltage is 400V50Hz, others on request.

Electromechanical actuator withelectronic positioner (EO)

The standard actuators are AUMA NormSA-series with RWG, AUMA Matic SAMseries or Rotork IQ-series. The standardincoming signal for the electromechanicalpositioner is 4-20 mA. All electromechanicalactuators are supplied complete with ma-nual override.

Larox Valve sizing program

To improve the customer service LaroxFlowsys has developed a valve-sizingprogram for quick and reliable calculationof valve dimensions for different applica-tions. The program shows graphically theCv values for the different valve sizes.User defined slurries are saved for laterstudies of the same slurry composition.Metric and US units are automaticallyconverted to the user settings when re-trieving saved slurry data.

Larox Valve CAD drawinglibraries

The engineering companies are also takeninto consideration by providing them theCAD drawing libraries of Larox Valves.The designers can easily add AutoCad13, 14 drawings to their own processdrawings.

The latest version of the Larox Valvesizing program and CAD drawing librariesare always available from Larox Valverepresentatives or from the Internet(www.larox.fi).
