Risks associated with handling and transportation

As a minimum, manufacturers and installers of SILESTONE®, DEKTON®, ECO, SENSA, SCALEA, INTEGRITY AND PREXURY BY COSENTINO® with all laws and regulations relating to workplace health and safety, as well as the information contained in this Guide.

Incorrect transportation or handling of Dekton materials may increase the risk of knocks, cuts, musculoskeletal strains, and crush or impact injuries can occur due to incorrect handling. Please follow the safety instructions detailed in the present guide.

Risks associated with production and modification

The production process can involve the risk of cuts, crush or projection injuries, exposure to high noise levels, or chemical substances such as free crystalline silica dust.

For more information about these risks and measures to prevent them, please consult the Safety Information Sheet and the Best Practice Guide that Cosentino has published. If you do not have this information, please ask your supplier.

GUIDE TO CORRECT MEASUREMENT

00 Flatness of the façade

Ensure that the façade is flat, correcting any unresolvable imperfections with the adhesive.

Create the layout, ensuring minimum waste of the board.

Joints

Plan the joints according to the obstacles in the space that you must avoid.

Measuring tools

Single elements

Screws and mortises for single elements are made in situ. Therefore, these do not need to be taken into account when measuring.

The requirements of the mechanical fixings must be in accordance to the size and thickness of the piece, as well as the regulations of each country.

INSTALLATION AND FIRST USE

Clean the back of the piece and support with T15

Check level of the pieces and support

with T13

Draw guidelines on the support

Microbevel the pieces with T05,

max. 1 mm

Use tool T01 to move the piece

Create Parallel lines: The direction of the pattern should span across the shorter length of the piece. The pattern on the piece and support must follow

the same direction and not cross.4 mm: 10x10 support – 3x3 pieces

8.12 and 20 mm: 10x10 support – 10x10 pieces

Minimum joint sizes: 2 mm for interior, 5 mm for exterior

Use T10 for leveling, every 15-3/4” x 19- 11/16”

Use T14 for grouting.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Maintenance and cleaning recommendations

Avoid dripping the cleaning product on the lower parts of the vertical cladding as much as possible. When drips are inevitable, the areas should be rinsed as quickly as possible. Generally, the cleaning and rinsing process should move from the top of the wall downwards.
