PHILoSoPHy


Egypt’s extra-long staple cotton – often referred to as “white gold” – has been renowned for centuries for its preciousness. The particular climatic conditions and the fertility of the soil alongside the river Nile allow the cultivation of the most precious cotton in the world.

Giza 45 is “the Queen” of all Egyptian cottons, picked by hand in five separate phases, not only ensuring that bolls with the right maturity are selected but also avoiding the use of defoliants and chemical products.

Giza45 is an exceptional, brilliant white fabric that has a soft, unique and silky handle – a sensation that is guaranteed to remain and not diminish in time.

SuPER StREtCHStretch fabric began its foray into the fashion world during the 1960’s in women’s pantyhose and undergarments. Only during the 1980’s stretch trend did it become part of the womenswear sector and alter the form and function of fashion.

Super stretch is a modern crease-resistant fabric with a velvet-like feeling. It is extremely comfortable, lightweight, supple, and flatters the figure. Stretch shirts and tops in a large range of colours always play an important part in our collections. Selected styles are also available in our stock service programme.

SILkSILkSilk shirts are new developments to Lareida. Our aim is to create shirts and shirt tops in pure silk fabrics with the same core values and attributes that characterize our cotton shirts.

Silk fabric is widely regarded as the most luxurious textile on the planet. Its tumultuous history, rife with wars, secrecy and centuries of trade, bears little resemblance to the fabric’s current reputation as the epitome of high fashion.

Our silk fabrics are made in Como (Italy), close to the Swiss border. The district of Como has an age-old tradition of silk weaving that dates back to the 16th century.

VIntAGE SILkOur vintage silk is an extremely luxurious fabric offered in nude tones and ice-cream colours. It has a super-soft texture with a sensational rich-bodied touch. The characteristics of this fabric paired with our production values make these shirts special and easy to wear. Vintage silk is not see-through and can be hand washed.

CRÊPE DE CHInE PESAntE

Crêpe de chine is a famously versatile silk with a subtle glossy lustre and texture. The fabric is made with tightly twisted weft yarns that produce both the crepe texture and its flexible drape.

For our collection we have chosen a silk crêpe de chine with extra weight (pesante from the Italian “heavy”) in striking jewel colours with a sand wash finish for a more sporty-chic look. The fabric is crease-resistant and feels soft to the skin. Crêpe de chine pesante can be hand washed, but dry cleaning is recommended.

SILk SAtInSilk satin is a weave that has a wonderful glossy surface and a dull back. Satin fabric can be made from any type of material, however nothing even comes close to satin fabric woven out of 100% pure silk threads.
