Objective: Reduce energy in Goal Subject facilities by 3% annually and water consumption by 2% annually as required by National Energy Conservation Policy Act and Executive Orders 13423 and 13514

1. Finalize and begin implementing Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan (INRMP)

INRMP complete Dec 2013. Implemented procedures with grounds for nuisance animals. Apr 2014 begin planting riparian buffer areas. New design standards have stringent requirements for vegetation.

2. Develop 2-year tree planting plan/map 6/30/2014

Arborist survey for tree health in core area. 2-year plan developed.

3. Submit proposed 2-year tree planting plan/map to Master Planning, VITAL, and COD


2-year plan has been submitted to Master Planner and Revitalization for concurrence. Waiting on funding.

1. Update MS4 Program Plan to address new permit requirements, stormwater regulations, and the Chesapeake Bay TMDL.


Update currently underway. MS4 Program Plan update is due to DEQ July 1st.

2. Provide presentation to upper management on upcoming requirements and discuss future budgeting options


Currently developing new MS4 Program Plan and Chesapeake Bay Action Plan to determine funding needs.

New VA stormwater regulations regarding quality and quantity (technical criteria) go into effect on 1 July

New requirements have been added to LaRC’s Environmental Design Standards

Requirements are being incorporated into projects (Computational Research Facility, MSL, etc.)

Appropriate staff (PMs, TPOCs, etc.) will be briefed

51 low lying manholes receive new internal seals and inflow dishes

90 manholes thoroughly cleaned and sealed with epoxy liner4 manholes receive major repairs 7 manholes totally replaced32 cleanouts addressed (broken, missing, or wrong sized caps)47 cleanouts not found in field to be identified and repaired

as appropriate Cutting and capping abandoned lines, repairing and resealing

sanitary overflow tank at pumping station, removing and replacing 2,275 linear feet of terracotta and vitrified clay lines with PVC pipe
