! Always use 420.555 or 420.666or 420.666G for solid cable and420.556 or 420.667 or 420.667Gfor stranded wire cable.

During installation, care ofLANmark-6 or LANmark-6 10Gproducts is muchmore important than wheninstalling LANmark-5 or otherNexans Category 5e products.

The high levels of performancecan only be guaranteed if theinstallation procedures arefollowed.Special attention must be givento keep the length of untwist ofthe cable pairs as little aspossible.

Prepare the cables fortermination.

F1TP, F2TP & FTP cable :Cut off the outer jacket and forF2TP the outer foil for the shownlength. This makes thealuminium side of the inner foilvisible.

For FTP cables inverse the foil toexpose the metal side on the outsideIf present, cut off the C3 centralcross member.Once the jackets have beenprepared replace the cablelabels with a permanent labelsolution.

4. The distance between thecable holder and the foil ofthe cable must be as short aspossible (Less than 5 mm isadvised).

For T568B terminations positionthe pairs of the cable as follows :

Brown Orange

Blue Green

1. Slide the cable holder overall 4 pairs at the same time.2. Do not untwist any of theindividual pairs for this partof the preparation.3. Respect the colour code onthe cable holder.

Pull the pairs over the pairsplitter respecting the colourcode. For 568B terminations,the orange conductor is at theouter side. The blue, brown andgreen conductors are all on theinner side.

Use a pair of side cutters to cutoff the overlength of the pairs.Cut as short as possible.A maximum overlength of3 mm is allowed.

Position the cable holdercorrectly oriented on the backof the connector.The guiding central member mustslide over the central pin. The wireorganizer will only fit in oneorientation.

Put the assembly in theuniversal comfort tool (with the “N”marking) and close it.

Push the cable holder evenly onto theback of the connector until you feelthat both sides have clicked down.

Make sure that the universal comforttool is set to the short EVO position.

The assembly must be insertedflat into the comfort tool asshown in the picture.Close the comfort tool to makethe connection.Do not exert any lateral strainon the connector and cableassembly.

Slide the rear cover on the back ofthe connector as shown.

The drainwire can beconnected on two differentplaces, either on the bottom ofthe connector or under the clipof the EMC pack :

If necessary twist the connectorslightly while pressing to ensure acorrect installation of the EMC clip. A

Cut of the drainwire B

The connector is now installed.

An optional key-stone clip can beadded on the front of the connectorto allow it to be fitted in key-stoneformat structural hardware.

While pressing the comfort tool pulllaterally on the connector body untilit is removed from the wire organiser.

The wires can now be removed fromthe wire organiser. The connector isnow ready for a new termination.

The Snap-in connector can be re-installed if needed. First cut the cable short behind theconnector.It is not advised to re-terminate aftercorrecting the wires.

First gently remove the clip of theEMC pack by lifting it at both sides,than slide the EMC pack off theconnector body.The wire organiser can only beremoved with the back of the comforttool.Place the back of the comfort tool onthe sides of the wire organiser.
