Landschaft

The intention of this project is to register, through images of the sky, the changes made on landscapes by humans and industry. This spaces show cables and advertising signs as a

symbol of contemporary development. In the same initiative, I’ve also worked on some installa-tions using garbage, (Landschaft 2), playing from an esthetic perspective whit the irony of the dichotomy between man and nature, the paradox between the beautiful and the absurd, the

heavenly and the ground.

I also intended to talk about the future: the pollution and the loneliness. Finally, landshaft is talking about a new landscape.

Walterio Iraheta

Studied Applied Arts specializing in Graphic Design at the Universidad Matías Delgado of El Salvador, Graphic Arts at the Chicago Cultural Center, USA 1997 and the School of Visual Arts, La Esmeralda, Mexico 2000.He obtained a first place in the Art Biennial Paiz of El Salvador 2007, an Honorable Mention in the competition of contemporary art from Palma de Mallorca, Spain 2004, the first prize in the Contemporary Art Biennial of Central America, 1998, among others.At this moment he was made more than 35 solo exhibitions and he was participated in over 100 collective and the Bienal de Pontevedra in Galicia, Spain 2010, the X Bienal de La Habana 2009 La Bienal de Valencia, São Paulo, 2008, the sample Latin American video “Visionaries”in the Itaú Cultural de Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the Mu-seum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofia, Madrid, 2009. This year he was invited to represent El Salvador at the 54 Venice Biennale 2011.His work is in the collections of the Museum of Art and Design in Costa Rica, José Luis Cuevas Museum, Mexi-co City, the Museum of Art, El Salvador, MARTE, the Art Museum of Los Angeles, Mola, and others.
