Due to the rising levels through-out the country, there is growing pressure on Government, this affects the private rent sector:

4.5 million people in the private rent sector are now living in poverty in 2016 (it was 2.2 million in 2004/5).

Evictions from the private rent sector is now the main cause of homelessness nationally.

Homelessness across the country has risen 54% since 2010.

As private rent continues to be the only growing part of the housing market, more people depend on it, more public money goes in it; Governments need accountability and more control.

Arguably, it is easier to achieve this with large/er landlord companies.
