Leaders realize the extensive authority that local governments have to regulate developmentpatterns and the critical role that planning plays in the adoption of newordinances and regulations. Theprogram also trains leaders on negotiation and collaborative decision making and how to apply thesetechniquestohelpbring acommunitytoconsensusonlanduse legislation andapprovals.
