Lambert Estate 2011 Mustang Sally Shiraz

About this wine

Mustang Sally is a soft spicy Shiraz with earthy fruit characters. The palate shows light berry flavors with sweet soft tannins and a gentle finish. Not designed to put in the cellar, but to drink now on any occasion.

Wine Profile: Vineyard Notes: The 2011 vintage was a once in a 40 year vintage, with record rainfalls throughout the growing season creating perfect conditions for downy mildew and botrytis. Shiraz was harvested earlier than usual, with fruit showing lower sugar and more balanced acid.

Winemaker Notes: The 2011 vintage showcases the spicy nature of Shiraz. Perfumed aromas of pepper, fennel, and a hint of cinnamon dominate the nose. Made in a Beaujolais style to enhance the light raspberry licorice flavours on the palate, this is the perfect lunch red. Serve slightly chilled for a refreshing summer drink.

Food Pairing: Thai beef salad, burger with the works (don’t forget the beetroot),
