    Terms and ConditionsThese Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings or LAL Language Centres coursesstarting on or a ter 1st January 2011.

    1. De nitionsIn these terms and conditions, the ollowing terms have the meanings set out nextto them (and re erences to the singular include the plural and vice-versa):

    AgreementThese terms and conditions together with the ApplicationForm and the Price List which are supplied by the SupplierSchool.

    Application Form:The orm you complete and send to the Supplier School inconnection with applying or a place on a Course which shallbe considered to orm an integral part o this Agreement.

    ConfrmationForm:

    The orm the Supplier School sends you to confrmacceptance o your application.

    Course: The Course o study you have applied or on yourApplication Form o ered by the Supplier School.Departure Date: The date on which your Course ends.LAL LanguageCentres:

    The language centres at various locations identifed in thePrice List.

    Price List:The document entitled 'Price List' which incorporates theApplication Form and these terms and conditions and whichis also downloadable rom the Website and which shall beconsidered to orm an integral part o this Agreement

    Relevant Account: The Supplier School's bank account identifed in the PriceList.Start Date: The frst day o the Course or which you are applying.

    Supplier School: The LAL Language Centre in the location where you wish tostudy identifed in the Price List.Website: The Website at www.lalgroup.comYou/Your: The applicant or a Course at the Supplier School.

    2. AgreementThis Agreement shall be legally binding between you and the Supplier Schoolonce the Supplier School has received a completed Application Form rom you,whether by e-mail or otherwise, and has confrmed your place by sending you aConfrmation Form. This Agreement and any dispute or claim arising out o or inconnection with it or its validity or its subject matter or ormation is governed byand construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws o the legal jurisdictionin which the Supplier School is situated.

    3. PaymentFull payment must be received by the Supplier School not less than 14 days be oreyour Start Date. You will not be allowed to commence your Course i payment is notmade by that time. Payment may be made by bank trans er, credit or debit card orin person to the Relevant Account. Additional charges may apply depending on thechoice o payment medium and such charges are identifed on the Price List.

    4. PricesAll prices stated on the Price List are valid rom 01 January 2011 to 31 December2011. LAL Language Centres reserve the right to unilaterally change prices as aresult o governmental regulations, tax increases, exchange rate variations or otherevents.

    5. Changes and AmendmentsOnce you have started a Course, no changes may be made to it other than bywritten agreement rom the Supplier School. I the Supplier School opts to approvea change, the additional charge which is specifed in the Price List will be incurredby you.

    6. CancellationsYou may cancel your booking provided you do so by written notice to the SupplierSchool, which it must receive not less than 14 days be ore the Start Date. In suchan event, any ees you have paid will be re unded except or registration ees andone weeks tuition and (where applicable) accommodation ees (such ees beingspecifed in the Price List). I you cancel your booking less than 14 days be orethe Start Date, any re unds are entirely at the Supplier School General Managersdiscretion. A ull re und o all ees paid (less delivery charges) will be made in theevent o visa re usal provided you send written notice to the Supplier School anddocumentary evidence o such re usal. I a Course is terminated a ter the StartDate, or i you ail to present yoursel at the school on the Start Date withouthaving previously cancelled your Course, no re unds will be given on tuition andaccommodation.

    7. CoursesStart Dates are detailed in the Price List. In the event o an insu fcient number ostudents booking or a particular Course, the Supplier School reserves the right tocancel the Course or provide you with an alternative Course which the SupplierSchool, in its sole discretion, considers suitable.

    8. Lesson TimesIndicative lesson times are set out in the Price List. The Supplier School reserves theright to alter such lesson times at its discretion.

    9. Competency LevelsCourses are o ered at six levels o language learning: False beginner/Elementary/ Pre-intermediate/Intermediate/Upper Intermediate and Advanced. A specialprogramme or complete beginners is o ered only on the frst Monday o everymonth at each LAL Language Centre. Other teaching levels may be available by

    arrangement.10. Certi cationYou must attend a minimum o 80% o lessons scheduled or the Course in order toreceive a certifcate o attendance at its conclusion.

    11. School ClosuresNational holidays and school closure dates may vary according to location and are

    detailed in the Price List. No reductions are made to prices in respect o closures onsuch dates.

    12. AccommodationLAL Language Centres are happy to advise you on a variety o accommodationoptions. You should book accommodation or the Start Date until the day be oreyour Departure Date unless you are in ormed to the contrary by the SupplierSchool. Accommodation arrangements are your responsibility unless you indicatethat you wish to book accommodation with the Supplier School on your ApplicationForm.

    13. Travel & TransfersCourse ees do not include ights or other transport to the Supplier School, exceptwhere specifed. You must make your own travel arrangements. The SupplierSchool will be pleased to provide in ormation to help you with your arrangements.The Supplier School will o er trans ers rom your airport o arrival to youraccommodation (Trans ers) subject to the payment o an additional charge. You

    must indicate whether you wish to reserve a Trans er on your Application Form andprovide the Supplier School with ull details o your ight and arrival time at least7 days be ore your Start Date ( ailure to do so or any extra costs incurred by theSupplier School as a result o incorrect, delayed or inadequate in ormation providedby you or your delayed arrival at the relevant airport may result in your incurring

    urther charges).

    14. VisasDepending upon the location o the Supplier School, you may require a visa tostudy in such location. The Supplier School will assist you in connection with yourinitial application or a visa but in all other respects it is your responsibility to apply

    or and obtain a visa where necessary.

    15. Immigration RegulationsYou must ensure that you ully understand immigration regulations in the SupplierSchools location. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet and comply withany such regulations and the Supplier School will not re und any ees paid due toyour having been re used entry into the Supplier Schools location by immigrationauthorities.

    16. HealthYou must be in good physical and mental health at the Start Date and the SupplierSchool reserves the right to require you to leave any Course at your own expensein the event that you ail to declare any material matters relating to your health onthe Application Form.

    17. Insurance and Limitation of LiabilityYou must arrange suitable insurance in respect o travel and medical risks and maybe required to provide evidence to The Supplier School o adequate insurance atleast seven days be ore the Start Date or at any point in time therea ter throughoutthe duration o your Course.The Supplier shall not have any liability to you or any loss o possessions, injury,death, costs related to medical or dental treatment, or costs related to repatriationor or any other losses, damages (whether direct or indirect), compensation, costs orexpenses unless negligence can be proved in a court o law in the jurisdiction o theSupplier School.The Supplier School shall not have any liability to you or any loss, damage,costs, expenses or other claims or compensation arising rom any in ormation orinstructions supplied by you which is, or are incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate.Nothing in any agreement you have with the Supplier School a ects any liability

    or death or personal injury caused by the Supplier Schools negligence or orraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

    18. ConductYou are expected to behave in a courteous manner and to respect ellow studentsand sta at the Supplier School. The illegal use o drugs, alcohol abuse andinconsiderate behaviour is unacceptable as is any ailure by you to abide by thelaw and custom o the Supplier Schools location. The Supplier School reserves theright to withhold Courses and accommodation rom any student who ails to meetsuch standards and to terminate any Course or part thereo without re und inappropriate circumstances.

    19. School RulesSchool rules and regulations are provided at Course inductions by the SupplierSchool, in literature provided to you and/or on Supplier School notice boards. Youmust comply with such rules and regulations.

    20. ExpulsionCommitting a criminal o ence, insu fcient attendance, the provision o alsein ormation in your Application Form, in correspondence and dealings with the

    Supplier School prior to the Start Date or on enrolment, disorderly, drunken,aggressive or threatening behaviour or any other actions which could bring theSupplier School or LAL Language Centres into disrepute may result in expulsion

    rom the Supplier School without re und. In such case, immigration and otherauthorities will be in ormed where appropriate.

    21. Matters Beyond LAL Language Centres ControlThe Supplier School will endeavour to provide you with the Course and service youbook. However, we do not take responsibility or disruptions to the Course andarrangements associated with it resulting rom orces out o the Supplier Schoolscontrol, such as (but not limited to) earthquakes, other natural disasters, war,governmental action and the like. Re unds in respect o the curtailment o theCourse or the period o your stay in the Supplier Schools location will not be madein such circumstances. Students are responsible or their own personal belongings.The Supplier School will not be held responsible or stolen, lost or damaged itemsbelonging to students.

    22. DescriptionsThe Supplier School honestly believes that all statements made in promotionalmaterial are actual and correct. Every reasonable e ort has been made to ensuresuch accuracy. The Supplier School is not responsible or any changes that becomeknown a ter promotional material is produced (up to date in ormation can be

    ound on the Website). The Supplier School will advise you o any material changeswhich become known to it prior to the Start Date.

    23. JurisdictionsLAL London and LAL Torbay are under the jurisdiction o England & Wales. LALMalta is under the jurisdiction o Malta. LAL South A rica is under the jurisdiction oSouth A rica. LAL USA is under the jurisdiction o Florida.
