As we move into the school year, a few reminders are below to keep you informed about our safety procedures and a few programs we have here in the dolphin pool. Safety Reminders: Please be sure to go through this list below and discuss with your child where appropriate. When dropping off in the morning, please pull all the way up in front of our building and drop your child off on the far side of the crosswalk. PLEASE do not sit in this moving traffic line and wait for the bell to ring. If you want to park in the lot and wait, (which is fine) just remember the front crosswalk circle area is for mov- ing traffic only. Always turn right when exiting our lot at BOTH arrival and dismissal times. Cars on Lake waiting to turn in the lot should HUG the curb and USE your turn signal to show your intent to come into our parking lot. Be sure to inform your child’s teacher if transportation modes are changing on any day. If you do call the office with last minute changes, please make sure it is before 3:00. Walkers stay on the SIDEWALKS and obey all the crossing guards’ instructions. Bus riders should remain seated and speak in quiet voices on the way to or from school. ***”Parker” parents, please enter the building to pick up your children. Do not wait out front and take them from the “car rider” line. Car riders will be outside waiting for you to pull up and load on the right side of the crosswalk as you are looking at the building. Safety matters! Thank you so much for your help, support, and cooperation. We want all students to be safe and secure as they travel to and from school. RtI letters will be mailed soon. Any dazzling dolphin receiving a letter will have an opportunity to enhance their skills 3 – 4 times a week with our RtI (Response to Instruction) team: Mrs. Amy Wignall, Mrs. Michelle Granskog, Mrs. Sue Fronek and Mrs. Pam Sorci. Placement of our students into this intervention is based on testing data and teacher recommendation. Just a friendly reminder, if you come to have lunch with your child on the first Friday of their birthday month, please remember only one adult guest. We are a growing school and I appreciate your understanding with this since we want to make sure all our students have seats so they can enjoy their lunch. DEPOSITS Please be sure to maintain a positive balance on your child’s lunch account! Deposits should be put in an envelope with the student’s first and last name and brought to the kitchen in the morning before school begins. Cash or check is accepted and if you have multiple students at Lake Street you can write one check and specify how you would like it divided. REMINDER: All kindergarten physicals should be turned into the nurse with updated immunization

shots. If you are having any problems getting your child in for a physical or shots please let the nurse know. Your child could be excluded from school by Sept. 20th if your child doesn’t have the updated physical or shots on record with the school. Thanks, Nurse Betty RN

Reminders from the Treasurer: Parents who chose the payment plan option for text book rental payment: The 1st payment is due Wednesday September 20th.

The 2nd

payment is due Friday October 20th

The Final payment is due Monday November 20th

Free and Reduced Assistance Forms need to be filled out each school year. If you have not filled out a new form for the 2017-18 schoolyear please do so ASAP. Contact Mrs. Forajter in the office if you have any questions or concerns. Thank You!

The Crown Point Middle Schools will be hosting a 5th grade cross country meet on Thursday, September 14th starting at 4:45. The meet will be at Timothy Ball Elementary School . A bus will bring runners from Lake Street to Timothy Ball. The parents are re-sponsible for picking their child up by 5:15.

Please turn in all slips to Mr. Kutemeier’s office by Tuesday, Sep-tember 12th. Forms are outside the gym office at Lake Street. If you have any questions contact Mr. Thomas the Cross Country Coach at [email protected] or Mr. Kutemeier at ext 15106 at Lake Street.
