2019-20 STORYLINESEARLY MATCH-UP FOR LADY VOLS, IRISH • Tennessee, which is receiving votes in both the AP

and USA Today Coaches Polls, hits the road to face No. 16/14 Notre Dame at Purcell Pavilion in the Joyce Center on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.

• The Lady Vols enter the game with a 2-0 record after winning their home opener and head coach Kellie Harper's first regular-season game at Thomp-son-Boling Arena vs. Central Arkansas on Thursday night, 63-36.

• UT opened the Kellie Harper era on the road last Tuesday evening with a hard-fought 72-68 victory over ETSU at sold-out Freedom Hall in Johnson City.

• UND also comes into the match-up with a 2-0 mark after beating Loyola Maryland Friday night, 84-60.

• Notre Dame also opened the season on the road last Tuesday night, holding off Fordham, 60-55.

• This is the 30th meeting in the series and the 10th straight year these teams have met

• Though this is the fourth time UT and UND have played in November, it's the first time since 1996 they've met in the 11th month and even earlier than that season's contest on the 19th day of November.

RECAPPING OUR LAST GAME• In just the third meeting in school history, the Uni-

versity of Tennessee defeated Central Arkansas, 63-36, in Thompson-Boling Arena on Thursday night.

• After allowing 18 points to the Sugar Bears (0-1) in the first quarter, Tennessee (2-0) surrendered just 18 points the rest of the way to give head coach Kellie Harper her first regular season win on The Summitt. The effort enabled the Lady Vols to improve their record in home openers to 43-3 all-time.

• In her first career start in a Lady Vol uniform, fresh-man guard Jordan Horston posted a team-leading 17 points on 7-of-9 accuracy from the field and 2-of-2 shooting from the three-point arc. She also pulled down five rebounds and dished out three assists in 27 minutes of duty.

• Sophomore guard Zaay Green tossed in nine points, while freshman Tamari Key and sophomore Rae Bur-rell chipped in eight each. Key was one of five Lady

Vols pulling down five rebounds and once again led UT with three blocked shots. She is averaging four per game through her first two contests.

LADY VOL LEFTOVERS FROM THURSDAY • Hot-Hand Horston: Freshman Jordan Horston start-

ed out a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor vs. UCA, in-cluding 2-of-2 from long range. She went on to a 7-of-9 effort with a game-high 17 points.

• Newbies Getting Things Started: For the sec-ond-straight game, newcomers got things started offensively for Tennessee, scoring the first 16 points of the game (Jordan Horston – 8, Tamari Key – 6, Lou Brown – 2). In the previous game against ETSU, newcomers scored the first 17 points (Brown – 9, Horston – 4, McCoy – 2, Key – 2).

• A Night of Firsts: Three new Lady Vols made their way into the starting lineup against Central Arkan-sas. Freshmen Jordan Horston and Tamari Key each made their first career starts, while redshirt senior Lou Brown made her first start at Tennessee.

• Balanced Attack: All 11 active Tennessee players contributed at least two points in the win over UCA. Jaiden McCoy (left hand injury vs. ETSU) didn't play.

• Tightening Up The Defense: After allowing UCA to score 18 points in the first quarter, UT bunkered down and allowed just seven points each in the sec-ond and third quarters. The Lady Vols then held the Sugar Bears to only four points in the fourth stanza, tying for the third fewest points allowed in a quarter.

• Owning The Paint: The Lady Vols scored 46 of their 63 points in the paint while allowing the Sugar Bears just 14.

HOME OPENER NOTABLES• Tennessee improved to 43-3 all-time in home open-

ers.• The Lady Vols held their opponents to 36 points,

which was the lowest total allowed in a home open-er since Stetson tallied 33 in 2005 and the third low-est since 1974.

• UT also posted its lowest offensive output in a home opener since tallying 62 vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 24, 1984.

LOOKING AT TRENDS• Tennessee has held both of its opponents below

35 percent field goal shooting and 22 percent from three-point land.

• UT's opponents have gotten to the line 45 times, while the Lady Vols have been there only 17 times, including three occasions vs. Central Arkansas.

• UT is out-rebounding its opponents 51.5 to 38.5 (+13.0) per contest.

HARPER VS. NOTRE DAME• This marks the first meeting between Kellie Harper

and Muffet McGraw as coaches, but Harper played against the Fighting Irish twice during the 1996-97 campaign while wearing a Lady Vol uniform.

• Harper's Tennessee teams were 2-0 vs. Notre Dame, playing two neutral site contests.

• On Nov. 19, 1996, No. 3/2 Tennessee defeated No. 14/17 Notre Dame in Ruston, La., in a WNIT match-up, 72-59.

• On March 28, 1997, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the No. 10/11 Lady Vols topped the No. 15/14 Fighting Irish, 80-66, in an NCAA Final Four semifinal contest. Two days later, UT won its most improbable NCAA title with 68-59 victory over Old Dominion.

• The triumph over ODU came after an infamous 10-

LADY VOLS FEATURE TALLEST ROSTER• The 2019-20 squad is the tallest team in Lady Vol

history, averaging 74 inches tall or 6-2.• The 2018-19 squad tied with the 2005-06 unit as the

previous tallest teams, averaging 6-1 41/64 in height. The 2017-18 team was fourth at 6-1 19/32, followed by the 2016-17 and 2003-04 groups in fifth at 6-1.

• Tennessee has only one player shorter than six-feet tall, and that is 5-8 freshman guard Jessie Rennie.

• This year’s Lady Vols have 11 players standing 6-feet tall or higher, marking the most in program history.

• This marks the fourth time in school history that the Lady Vols have sported 10 or more players standing six-feet tall or higher on a roster. The other occa-sions were in 2009-10, 2014-15 and 2018-19, when UT had 10.

THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET• Freshman guard Zaay Green scored 15 points in

the first half to put UT up 34-31 at the break, but No. 1/1 Notre Dame rallied in the second half to grab a 77-62 win at Thompson-Boling Arena.

THE KELLIE HARPER ERA • Former Lady Vol Kellie Harper took the reins at Ten-

nessee after leading Missouri State to a Sweet 16 ap-pearance in last season’s NCAA Tournament.

• Harper, a native of Sparta, Tenn. (White County H.S.), played point guard at Tennessee from 1995-99, help-ing lead the Lady Vols to NCAA Championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998. The ’98 squad went 39-0.

• In her 16th season as a head coach, Harper is 287-208 through the ETSU game and is one of only 11 coaches to lead three different women’s programs to NCAA Tournament appearances (Western Carolina/NC State/Missouri State).

• She will attempt to join Jim Foster (St. Joe's, Vander-bilt, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Chattanooga) in becom-ing the only coaches to take four different women’s teams to the NCAA tourney.

• Harper has rebuilt and directed teams to 12 postsea-son appearances (5 NCAA/7 WNIT) in her career.

• The LVFL was 118-79 at Missouri State in six seasons, earning 2019 Kay Yow National Coach of the Year and 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year accolades last season for leading the Lady Bears to the NCAA Sweet 16.

HARPER’S STAFF• Harper’s staff includes husband Jon Harper as well

as Lacey Goldwire and Jennifer Sullivan, who were at Arkansas and Ohio State, respectively, last year.

• Jon Harper is in his 16th season as a vital member of Kellie Harper’s staff and assists with all aspects of the program. The two have worked together since they were assistants at Chattanooga from 2001-04.

• The 2019-20 campaign marks Lacey Goldwire’s first as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UT, her eighth season as a full-time coach and her 12th year overall in the profession, including stops at Okla-homa State, Morehead State, Iowa, Arkansas and now Rocky Top. She has been part of programs that have earned postseason berths in nine of 11 seasons.

• Jennifer Sullivan is in her first season at UT after spending the 2018-19 campaign as an assistant at Ohio State. Sullivan was an integral part of Kellie Harper's program at Missouri State from 2013-18, serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordi-nator there alongside current UT colleague Jon Harp-er. She has 14 years of experience as an assistant.

• Catherine Greene is in her first season as director of basketball operations at Tennessee. She arrived on Rocky Top after serving from 2017-19 as the director of student-athlete enrichment for the University of North Carolina women's basketball program.

• Director of Scouting and Analytics Alex Varlan pre-viously had the title of video coordinator and is one of two members of the previous staff to be retained.

• Heather Ervin is the director of player relations and administration and joins Varlan as a returning staff member. She is in her fourth year with the Lady Vol program and previously served as director of recruit-

ing operations and player personnel.• Director of recruiting operations Jessica Jackson was

on Harper’s staff at Missouri State, played for Harper at Western Carolina and served as a graduate assis-tant with Harper at NC State.

• Tyler Watson is in his first year as the director of women's basketball sports performance. He previ-ously worked with Harper as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Missouri State.

FAMILY AFFAIR• In addition to having two coaches named Harper,

expect to see a lot of the Harper children around the team.

• Jackson (turns six in November) and Kiley (1) are a big part of the Lady Vol family, and Tennessee fol-lowers can expect to see them around the program.

• Both traveled with the team during the 2019 Euro-pean Tour and found 12 new Lady Vol sisters who enjoyed spending time with them.

• Coach Kellie Harper sees the Harper family and the Lady Vol Basketball family as one cohesive unit.

THE RETURNEES• Tennessee returned two starters and six total letter-

winners from last season’s 19-13 squad that fell in the NCAA First Round.

• The Lady Vols returned two highly-regarded starters in 6-2 junior guard/forward Rennia Davis (14.9 ppg., 7.7 rpg.) and 6-0 sophomore guard Zaay Green (9.4 ppg., 4.0 rpg., 2.3 apg.).

• Davis was a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention selection and All-SEC Second Team choice, while Green was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

• Top returning reserves include 6-4 junior center Ka-siyahna Kushkituah (4.8 ppg., 3.5 rpg.), sophomore wing Rae Burrell (3.6 ppg., 2.8 rpg.) and sophomore point guard Jazmine Massengill (3.4 ppg., 3.4 rpg., 1.3 apg.). Also back is 6-3 senior forward Kamera Harris.

• Kushkituah started 11 games and was averaging 10.2 ppg. and 6.2 rpg. in 24.8 mpg. through five games

LADY VOLS, NEW STAFF BOND ON SUMMER 2019 EUROPEAN TRIP Tennessee, which features a new coaching staff, a roster of 12 with six returnees and a half dozen others eyeing their first year on the floor at Rocky Top, went 3-0 on

a trip to Western Europe from August 5-15, 2019.

UT traveled to The Netherlands, Belgium and France on the excursion, which balanced practice, games, educational activities and visits to tourist sites.

The Lady Vols defeated Dozy BV Den Helder in the city of Den Helder, Netherlands, 97-45, on Aug. 8. They then cruised by KBBC Upkot Sparta Laarne in Laarne, Bel-gium, 106-64, on Aug. 10. UT closed out the tour in France by rolling past AK Select in the village of Brétigny-sur-Orge, 93-43, on Aug. 13.

Sophomores Rae Burrell and Zaay Green scored in double figures all three games for the Lady Vols, while junior Rennia Davis and freshman Jordan Horston did so twice, and junior Kasiyahna Kushkituah and freshman Tamari Key each surpassed 10 points once each. Davis had the single-game high for the tour with 25 points vs. KBBC Upkot Sparta Laarne, while Burrell had 19 vs. AK Select.

Four players tallied double-digit totals in rebounding during the trip, including sophomore Jazmine Massengill, Key, Burrell and Davis. Massengill had 12 vs. KBBC Upkot Sparta Laarne, while Key had 11 against Dozy BV Den Helder.

Davis dished out eight assists vs. AK Select, while Massengill had six each vs. Dozy BV Den Helder and KBBC Upkot Sparta Laarne. Burrell had the tour high for steals with five vs. AK Select.

Among their highlights off the court, the Lady Vols enjoyed a boat tour of Amsterdam’s canals, visited the Anne Frank House and saw the windmills of Zaanse Schans while in The Netherlands.

They strolled the streets of the beautiful and historic cities of Ghent and Bruges while in Belgium, took a tour of the Gravensteen Castle and enjoyed sampling waf-fles, chocolate and other Belgian delicacies.

The final leg of the journey was to France, and the tour included a visit to Normandy to see Omaha Beach, the American cemetery and other World War II his-toric sites. Time in Paris included a Seine River cruise, ascending the Eiffel Tower at night and a visit to The Louvre.

BROWN GETS SIXTH YEAR FROM NCAA• Tennessee has a seventh player who was on the ros-

ter last season but didn’t play due to injury.• Graduate transfer Lou Brown, who came from Wash-

ington State and hails from Melbourne, Australia, was granted a sixth season of eligibility due to an injury suffered prior to the 2018-19 season.

• On Oct. 17, 2018, Brown tore the ACL in her right knee and was lost for the year. She remained a key part of the team at practice and games, always en-couraging her teammates.

• Brown is UT's second-ever international player and the first from Australia.

5 all-time by a UT sophomore, while her rebound average (7.7) was ninth-best by a second-year Lady Vol.

- In career rebounding, Davis entered the year at No. 10 all-time at UT with an average of 7.66 per contest.

- In career free throw percentage, Davis began 2019-20 ranked No. 10 in school history at .805 (140-174).

- For career double-doubles, Davis has now posted 19, which ties her for 19th among all Lady Vols en-tering her junior year.

- Davis stands 124 points away from becoming the 46th player to score 1,000 points during her Lady Vol career.

- Head coach Kellie Harper is 13 victories away from reaching 300 wins for her career.

THE NON-CONFERENCE SLATE- After opening the regular season on the road at East

Tennessee State on Nov. 5, UT plays eight of its next 11 on Rocky Top. In addition to a Dec. 8 showdown with perennial rival #14 Texas, the Big Orange wom-en play host to Central Arkansas (Nov. 7), Tennessee State (Nov. 14), Stetson (Nov. 19), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 26), Air Force (Dec. 1), Colorado State (Dec. 11) and Howard (Dec. 29).

- The rest of the non-conference road slate isn't for the faint of heart. UT travels to defending NCAA runner-up and No. 20 preseason Notre Dame (Nov. 11) in the earliest-ever match-up between the schools. The Lady Vols also play at No. 4 Stanford (Dec. 18) and Portland State (Dec. 21) and renew a storied rivalry with No. 3 UConn (Jan. 23) at Hart-ford in a contest that will benefit the Pat Summitt Foundation and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

SURVEYING THE SEC SCHEDULE- The Lady Vols open SEC action at home vs. Missouri

on Jan. 2 before hitting the road for back-to-back games at No. 13 Kentucky and Ole Miss on Jan. 5 and 9, respectively.

- In addition to its battle vs. UK, Tennessee will face ranked SEC foes in home games vs. No. 9 Mississippi State (Feb. 6) and No. 10 Texas A&M (Feb. 16) as well as road contests vs. No. 7 South Carolina (Feb. 2) and No. 19 Arkansas (Feb. 10).

- The remaining home schedule includes Georgia (Jan. 12), Alabama (Jan. 20), LSU (Jan. 26), Vander-bilt (Feb. 23) and Ole Miss (Feb. 27).

- Other SEC road trips include stops at Florida (Jan. 16), Vanderbilt (Jan. 30), LSU (Feb. 13) and Auburn (March 1).

TV GUIDE- The Lady Vols are scheduled to appear on linear

television 17 times during the regular season, includ-ing seven occasions on ESPN channels, nine on the SEC Network and one on PAC-12 Networks. Eleven other contests will be streamed live on SECN+, while the Portland State road contest will be streamed on Pluto TV Channel 352. Broadcast information for the contest at East Tennessee State will be announced at a later date.

- In SEC play, 12 of 16 UT contests will be carried on linear TV. Home games included in that mix are Missouri (SEC Network whiparound), Georgia (SEC Network), Alabama (SEC Network), LSU (SEC Network), Mississippi State (SEC Network), Texas A&M (ESPN2) and Vanderbilt (ESPN2). Linear road broadcasts include Kentucky (ESPN2 or SEC Net-work), Vanderbilt (SEC Network), South Carolina (ESPN2), Arkansas (SEC Network) and Auburn (SEC Network whiparound). All whiparound games can be seen in their entirety via live stream on SECN+.

- Outside of conference play, UT's home games vs. Air Force (SEC Network) and Texas (ESPN2) will be televised, as well as its at road tilts at Notre Dame (ESPN2), Stanford (PAC-12 Networks) and UConn (ESPN). The contest at Portland State will be an on-line broadcast on Pluto TV Channel 532.

THEY'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE• While this is her initial season sitting on the Tennes-

see bench as a coach, this isn't the first time Kellie Harper has coached at T-BA.

• Harper sat on the visiting team bench twice as the head coach at Western Carolina. Her Catamounts fell to UT, 94-43, on March 20, 2005, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and dropped an 83-56 deci-sion to Tennessee on Nov. 25, 2008.

• Her husband Jon was an assistant on those staffs, while UT's current director of recruiting operations, Jessica Jackson, was a junior guard for the Harpers at Western Carolina during the 2008 visit to Knoxville.

• Jackson also was director of ops. at Appalachian State when that program visited Knoxville in 2016.

• Assistant Lacey Goldwire was an assistant at Ar-kansas last season, when the Razorbacks came to Knoxville and beat UT, 80-79, on Jan. 21.

• UT director of basketball operations Catherine Greene held a similar role at Georgia Tech when UT played in Atlanta in 2012 and hosted the Yellow Jackets in 2013.

HISTORIC RIVALRY RENEWED- The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has

organized a renewal of the historic series between the Tennessee Lady Volunteers and the UConn Hus-kies, starting in the 2019-20 season.

- As a longstanding rivalry, the teams consistently met from 1995-2007 but have not faced each other since. Widely regarded as the two most successful women's programs in the country, Tennessee and UConn account for 19 National Championships, doz-ens of impact players in the WNBA and many of the sport's all-time greats.

YOUNG AND FULL OF POTENTIAL- Seven of Tennessee’s 12 players are freshmen or

sophomores. There are four freshmen and three sophomores.

- The Lady Vols have two seniors, and one (Lou Brown) sat out last season due to injury, and the other (Kamera Harris) saw action in 19 contests and averaged 6.8 minutes per game.

- Besides Rennia Davis (31 games/30 starts) and Zaay Green (32 games/24 starts), UT returns four players who started a combined 12 games a year ago.

TWO IN GRADUATE SCHOOL- Two Lady Vols (Lou Brown, Kamera Harris) already

possess undergraduate degrees and are working toward master’s degrees in communication and information with concentration in journalism and electronic media.

- Brown earned a degree in sport management from Washington State in May 2018.

- Harris earned a degree in recreation and sport man-agement in May 2019.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT- Junior Rennia Davis is a member of the VOLeaders

Academy Class of 2020. The first-of-its-kind pro-gram is a dynamic partnership between the UT Cen-ter for Leadership and Service, the Center for Sport, Peace and Society and the Athletics Department.

- Senior Kamera Harris serves as the women's bas-ketball representative for UT's Student-Athlete Ad-visory Committee. She also is a member of the SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council.

- Freshman Tamari Key is serving as a women's bas-ketball representative for UT's Student-Athlete Ad-visory Committee this season as well.

THREE STRAIGHT TOP 10 SIGNING CLASSES- Tennessee has welcomed three consecutive top 10

signing classes in 2017 (No. 1), 2018 (No. 4) and 2019 (No. 9), according to the espnW HoopGurlz rank-ings.

- Top 60 players from those classes at Tennessee right now include Rennia Davis (No. 12) and Kasi-yahna Kushkituah (No. 55) in 2017; Zaay Green (No. 10) Jazmine Massengill (No. 25) and Rae Burrell (No. 43) in 2018; and Jordan Horston (No. 2) and Tamari Key (46) in 2019.

FIVE MCDONALD’S A-A ON ROSTER- Tennessee has five McDonald’s All-Americans on its

2019-20 roster, which is one fewer than it had a year ago.

- Those players are juniors Rennia Davis and Kasi-yahna Kushkituah, sophomores Zaay Green and Jazmine Massengill and freshman Jordan Horston.

- Horston was named the MVP of the 2019 contest in Atlanta, Ga. She became the sixth Lady Vol sign-ee to earn that honor, following Shanna Zolman (2002), Alexis Hornbuckle (2004), Meighan Sim-mons (2010), Mercedes Russell (2013) and Te’a Coo-per (2015).

- Tennessee now has had 35 McDonald’s All-Ameri-cans on its rosters through the years.

ATHLETIC ABILITY RUNS IN THE FAMILY• Several Lady Vols had family members who played

basketball or other sports in college.• Jordan Horston's dad played basketball at Capital

University. Her cousin, Sylvia Crawley, played bas-ketball at North Carolina, for USA Basketball and in

the WNBA. Also, Horston's great uncle was the late Joe Gilliam, who played quarterback at Tennessee State University and with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

• Rae Burrell's mom Ann (Barry) Burrell played at Ne-vada-Reno, where she averaged 10.6 rebounds per game one season and yanked down a school-record 25 in one contest. Dad John Burrell was a long jump All-American at UNR and cousin Evan Roquemore played basketball at Santa Clara from 2010-14.

• Zaay Green's mother (Yolanda Harris) was a four-year starter on the basketball team at Stephen F. Austin from 1994-97 and still holds the program’s No. 6 all-time single-season steals total (87, 1996-97). Her father (Zoderick Green) was an All-Amer-ica player at Central Oklahoma and still holds the school record for assists in a game with 17 vs. Tar-leton State in 1995.

• Kasiyahna Kushkituah's uncle, Quennon Echols, played basketball at Murray State; and her God-un-cle, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, is a retired NBA player who was a 2000 U.S. Olympic gold medalist and 2002 NBA All-Star.

• Tamari Key's mom, Tammy Brown, played volley-ball and her dad, Marcus Key, played basketball at Coastal Carolina.

• Jazmine Massengill's brother, C.J., played at the Uni-versity of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and her cous-in, Mariah Massengill, played basketball at Eastern Kentucky.

• Jaiden McCoy's dad, Maxteen, played football at Emporia State University in Kansas.

HOME SWEET HOME• This is the 33rd season that the Tennessee women’s

and men’s basketball teams have called Thomp-son-Boling Arena their home, and the Lady Vols own an incredible 453-45 mark (.910) in the venue.

• The Lady Volunteers have built a 605-69 (.898) home record in contests played at Thompson-Bol-ing Arena, Stokely Athletics Center and Alumni Gym through the years.

• Capacity at Thompson-Boling Arena is 21,678.• UT has led the nation in attendance 19 times in the

past 28 years, finishing seventh in 2018-19 at 8,028 per contest.

TENNESSEE IN SEC PLAY• UT is 395-79 in SEC regular-season games through

the 2018-19 season, winning 18 championships and capturing 17 SEC tourney titles.

LOOKING BACK TO 2018-19...UT ENDS 2018-19 JUST SHY OF 20 WINS- Tennessee finished the 2018-19 season with a 19-13

overall record and a 7-9 mark in SEC play, good for a tie for eighth place in the league standings.

- UT saw a 42-game streak of 20-win seasons come to an end.

- The Lady Vols were the No. 8 seed in the SEC Tour-nament, beating LSU in the second round, 69-66, before falling to eventual champion Mississippi State in the quarterfinals, 83-68.

TENNESSEE EARNS 38TH TOURNEY BID- As the only program to appear in every NCAA Divi-

sion women's tournament, the Tennessee women’s basketball team was selected to the postseason for the 38th time last season.

- The No. 11 seed Lady Vols, who were placed in the Albany Region, fell to No. 6 seed UCLA in the first round at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Md., 89-77, on March 23.

- Sophomore Rennia Davis posted a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead UT, while class-mate Kasiyahna Kushkituah contributed 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

- The Lady Vols now stand at 125-30 all-time in NCAA play, including 30-2 in first-round games.

TENNESSEE, STATISTICALLY SPEAKING- Rennia Davis and Evina Westbrook tied for the team

lead in scoring a year ago at 14.9 points per game. They tied for the fifth-best scoring average ever by a Lady Vol sophomore.

- Davis paced the team at 7.7 rebounds per game, which ranked ninth-best ever by a UT sophomore.

- Westbrook, meanwhile, averaged 5.3 assists per contest, which ranks No. 3 all-time by a Lady Vol sophomore. Her assist total in 2018-19 (163) was the No. 8 mark ever by a Tennessee player.

- Davis ended the year with the No. 10 all-time free throw field goal percentage at .805.

- Meme Jackson ended her career with the ninth-most three-pointers attempted in a career at 376.

END OF AN ERA- LVFL Holly Warlick closed out her Lady Vol head

coaching career and a lengthy run on the staff at Tennessee at the end of the 2018-19 season.

- The 1981 UT graduate finished with a 172-67 (.720) record during her seven years as head coach on Rocky Top.

- She spent 34 seasons on the staff at Tennessee, contributing to a 1,003-189 record during that time, including all eight of the school's NCAA titles.

- Tennessee claimed three SEC trophies in Warlick’s seven seasons, winning regular-season crowns in 2013 and 2015 and claiming the tournament title in 2014. The team made three NCAA Elite Eights.

- Warlick’s career SEC winning percentage (.696, 78-34) through the 2018-19 season ranked her second among all SEC women’s head coaches.

NATIONAL HONORS FOR DAVIS- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association

announced its 2019 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America Team, and Tennessee sophomore Rennia Davis was among those receiv-ing honorable mention distinction.

- Davis, a 6-foot-2 guard/forward from Jacksonville, Fla., tied as Tennessee's leading scorer at 14.9 points per game and led the Lady Vols in rebounding (7.7 rpg.) and free throw percentage (.856). That accu-racy at the charity stripe ranked No. 1 in the SEC and No. 34 nationally.

- A starter during 62 of 64 games in her two-year ca-reer, Davis posted a team-leading nine double-dou-bles as a sophomore and scored in double figures a team-high 26 times, including 16 games with 15 or more points and six with 20 or more. Davis also led the team with 10 double-digit rebound games last season. Her 7.7 per game rebound average was the ninth-best ever in a season by a Lady Vol soph-omore, while her 14.9 scoring average tied for No. 5 all-time by a UT sophomore.

- In addition to ranking No. 1 in free throw percent-

age (.856) among SEC players, Davis stood No. 8 in rebounding (7.7), No. 10 in field goal percentage (.456) and No. 12 in scoring (14.9).

LADY VOL TRIO EARNS SEC HONORS- The 2019 Southeastern Conference Women's Bas-

ketball awards, as chosen by the league's coaches, were announced, and Lady Vols Rennia Davis and Zaay Green were among the student-athletes rec-ognized.

- Davis, a sophomore guard/forward from Jackson-ville, Fla., was named to the All-SEC Second Team, while Green, a guard from Duncanville, Texas, was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. It was the first all-conference honor for Davis. Green, mean-while, became the third member of UT's 2018-19 roster to earn rookie acclaim.

- Associated Press also released its 10-member All-SEC Team, and Davis garnered second-team acco-lades from the media as well.

- Green, a 6-0 guard out of storied Duncanville High School, started 24 of 32 games, averaging 9.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 steals while playing 26.5 minutes per contest. She scored in double figures 15 times, including four games of 15 or more points. She ranked second on the team in assists, third in rebounding, fourth in scoring, blocks and three-pointers, and fifth in steals.

- Among SEC freshmen, Green ranked No. 2 in scoring and rebounding, No. 3 in assists and steals, and No. 6 in blocks. She was a two-time SEC Freshman of the Week pick last season.

- Sophomore point guard Evina Westbrook was named to the SEC Women's Basketball Community Service Team.

- A member of the UT Athletics Department's VOLeaders program, Westbrook was one of UT's most active volunteers in the community and some-one who displayed a heart for those dealing with hardships. She visited patients on separate occa-sions at the UT Cancer Institute as well as East Ten-nessee Children's Hospital and joined the Lady Vol basketball team in hosting kids from East Tennessee Children's Hospital at a Christmas party in UT's Pratt Pavilion practice facility.

- Westbrook also participated in Voloween, welcom-ing area children to campus for UT's annual interac-tive Halloween party, and Hoops For Hope, a local basketball event for children with Down Syndrome. She also assisted the Volunteer Ministry Center and Knox Area Rescue Ministries as UT's SAAC served a holiday meal to those in need and played fun games with their guests. Additionally, she took part in the Childhood Obesity Conference and Rocky Top Tip-off.

ACADEMIC ACCOLADES FOR TWO- Sophomore Rennia Davis and junior Kamera Harris

were named to the 2019 Winter Sports SEC Aca-demic Honor Roll.

- They were among 41 University of Tennessee stu-dent-athletes on that list.

- Davis is majoring in hotel, restaurant & tourism man-agement with a minor in business administration.

- Harris is a recreation and sport management major who graduated in May.

1999 University of Tennessee graduate and former women’s basketball standout Kellie (Jolly) Harper was announced by UT Director of Athletics Phillip Fulmer as the new head coach of the Lady Volunteers on April 9, 2019. Harper became only the third Lady Vol head coach in the NCAA era of women’s basketball. She took the reins at Tennessee after six years of lead-ing the Missouri State Lady Bears, capped by the 2018-19 season’s impressive march to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title and magical run to the NCAA Sweet 16. A native of Sparta, Tenn., Harper was a point guard for the legendary Pat Summitt at UT from 1995-99, playing 132 games and helping the Lady Vols win NCAA National Championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998. She was part of a senior class that helped the Big Orange forge a 131-17 overall record as well as win two SEC regular season titles (1998, 1999) and three SEC Tournament crowns (1996, 1998, 1999). One of only 11 women’s hoops skippers to lead three different schools to the NCAA Tournament, she has directed her teams to 12 postseason berths in her 15-year head coaching career. Harper guided Missouri State to NCAA appear-ances in 2015-16 and 2018-19 with WNIT berths on three other occasions. She also led North Carolina State to the NCAA Tournament in 2009-10 (plus two WNIT appearances) and guided Western Car-olina to NCAA berths in 2004-05 and 2008-09 (plus two trips to the WNIT). Harper entered 2019-20 with a 15-year head

coaching record of 285-208, including five NCAA Tournament appearances and seven WNIT berths in that span. In 25th season as a Division I head coach, assistant coach or player, Harper has made 20 postseason appearances with a combined 533-261 record, 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and seven WNIT bids. She recorded a 118-79 won-lost record at Mis-souri State, claiming Missouri Valley Conference Tournament crowns in 2016 and 2019 and notching regular-season runner-up finishes in 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19. Last year’s squad improved measurably as the season progressed, resiliently overcoming a 1-7 start to post the program’s best overall record (25-10) since 2004-05 and its top league mark (16-2) since 2003-04 with a 24-3 run over the final 27 contests. The Lady Bears finished No. 24 in the final 2019 USA Today Sports Coaches Poll, which was their first national ranking in 15 years. Harper was named the Missouri Valley Coach of the Year and also was chosen as the 2019 Kay Yow Coach of the Year. That award is presented annually to the Division I women’s head coach who embodies a winning spirit while displaying great character, on and off the court. Harper took over a MSU program that was com-ing off a 14-17 overall mark and 6-12 league mark in 2013-14. After a 14-17/8-10 slate in her first season in Springfield, the Lady Bears never finished lower than third in the league standings and made the postseason every year.
