Day 1 : Arrive at Leh, transfer to Grand Dragon

Rest and acclimatize for the day.

Leh Local Sightseeing

Take it easy today. After breakfast visit to Thiksey monastery, Central Asian Museum and Shanti Stupa. Explore Leh market in the evening.

Transfer to Brown Bear Lodge in Western Ladakh.

Post breakfast drive towards Drass in Kargil via the NH1.Enroute visit Alchi and Lamyuru Monastery. Have hot lunch in Kargil. Arrive at the lodge in Drass by evening.

Exclusive Brown Bear tracking in Western Ladakh (3 nights)

A typical day at the brown bear lodge looks something like this:Early start to go looking for Brown Bears (usually between 5am) and other exciting wildlife around Drass with your spotter and tour Leader. You will be on foot to reach the vantage points at the top (40 mins-1 hour climb – gentle slope – mules and porters can be arranged) or drive scanning the slopes for movement of bears. The bears are generally active till around 9am after which we return. The guests can also stay on the hill for the whole day with theirspotter if they wish to and on those days, a hot lunch will be brought up to the guest. Small packed breakfast goes with the guests on the morning expedition and once back in the house, a larger break-fast/brunch is served.

Day 7 : Explore the heritage house, the Indus and the village of Nimmu

Spend the day exploring the Nimmu heritage house and trying out their local cuisines. Walk around the ancient village of Nimmu and experience the local way of life.

Day 8 : Day trip to Ulley for Snow Leopard sighting

Our spotters at Ulley will be constantly looking for wildlife including snow leopards - during the 3 nights the guests are there in Nimmu House.

Day 6 : Transfer to Nimmu House (3 nights) driving via Dom-khar and Aryan Valley

Today we will head back towards Nimmu in Sham valley via the lower Indus belt. Explore the ancient Rock Art site in Domkhar. Overnight at Nimmu House.

Post lunch/brunch, head out on your vehicle with the tour leader to take insome places of interest around Kargil and Drass such as War Memorial (20mins), Bhimbat (20 mins), Kargil Town (1 hour), Suru Valley (3 hours), AryanValley (2 hours), Hundarman Museum (40 mins) among other places. Theguests can also choose to walk some other trails for birding or seeing flowerblooms depending on the time of the year.

Transfer to Lodge in Tsokar (3 nights) via Tanglang La and Changthang

After an early breakfast drive to Tsokar Lake. Our local team will receive us at the lodge. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 10 : Wildlife Viewing and Birding in Tsokar

Explore the various lakes of Tsokar, the Changpa nomadic community birding and wildlife viewing

Day 11 : Day trip to Tsomoriri Lake and Puga Hotsprings

Drive to Tsomoriri for birding and visit the sulphur hot springs of Puga, aunique natural phenomenon caused by volcanic diffusion deep inside theearth’s crust. Lunch will be served at Tsomoriri Lake.

Return to Leh. Night at Grand Dragon (1 night)

Drive back to Leh and check into to hotel.

Fly back to Delhi

Payment and Cancellation policy :

- These itineraries are customizable based on guest interests to an extent andwithin the limits of the region/scope of operation.

- Depending on the time of the year these itineraries can be started from bothSrinagar and Kargil and we can provide any further assistance on either end ofthe fixed departure if one feels the need. 

- The fixed departure dates will operate only when a minimum of 4 PAX sign up per trip.

- Minimum stay at the Lodge – 2 nights (suggested is 4 nights)

- The Himalayan Brown Bear Lodge can be used as a base to explore the heritageof Kargil, Suru Valley, Drass and other regions of Western Ladakh, apart frombeing the best site to view the Himalayan Brown Bears.

- Access – Less than 30 mins from Drass town. From Leh it is a 6 hours drive andfrom Snow Leopard Lodge Ulley it is 4 hours 30 mins, From Srinangar the drivetakes 4 - 5 hours to our lodge depending on snow and traffic around Zoji LaPass. (open only after May)

- Full payment must be made before commencement of the journey

- Booking confirmation- 15% advance 1 year prior to the trip or at time of booking if its less than one year (non-refundable)

- 35% - 6 months prior to the trip (non-refundable)

- Balance 50% – 3 months prior to arrival (non-refundable)

- No refund will be granted for portion/portions of the journey not performed by the traveller.

- No refund will be granted in case of non-performance of journey due to external and natural events.

- In the event of any dispute, the matter shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of the District Court, Kargil.
