LABQUAKE Rotisseries feature a removableshaft assembly with polypropylene holders forrotating hybridization bottles and tubes.

The small rotisserie will accept:• 4 standard 35-38 mm x 150 mm

hybridization bottles

• 4 standard 25 mm x 150 mm tubes

• 4 (50 ml) conical tubes

The large rotisserie will accept:• 4 standard 35-38 mm x 300 mm hybrid-

ization bottles

• 8 (50 ml) conical tubes

The speed is fixed at 8 rpm for various blottingprocedures. Tubes may be added or removedwithout turning off the motor.

Applications• Nucleic acid and protein blotting, i.e.

Western Blot Hybridization and otherblotting procedures.

• Treating cells on beads.

General UsageDo not use this product for anything other than itsintended usage.

AssemblyEngage the rotisserie shaft to the motor shaftby stretching the frame slightly and gentlypushing the rotisserie shaft onto the motorshaft. Engage the opposite end of the shaft tothe supporting pivot screw. The LABQUAKERotisserie is now ready to plug in, flip theswitch to the “I” position and operate. Toremove the rotisserie shaft assembly, loosenthe supporting pivot screw. Disengage theshaft from the motor shaft by stretching theframe slightly and gently pulling the rotisserieshaft away.

Installing Tubes and BottlesInsert tube or bottles into holders. Distributeweight evenly. The larger spaces of the holderaccommodate 35-38 mm bottles. The smallerspaces of the holder accommodate 25 mm bot-tles or 50 ml conical tubes. Tubes or bottlesmay be installed while the motor is running.The motor reverses direction whenever its rota-tion is impeded. It is not damaged by holdingthe shaft and stalling the motor.

Load CapacityThe total load should not exceed 38 ounces forM90600 models or 56 ounces for M107600models.

Operation

CautionWhenever the shaft assembly isremoved or installed, stretch theframe slightly and pull or pushthe shaft assembly directly offor onto the motor shaft. Do notbend or twist the motor shaft.

NoteIf at any time the shaft assemblyfails to rotate continuously, thereis some obstruction to its freerotation which can usually beseen immediately. At times itmay be necessary to repositiona tube to prevent a tube fromtouching the bracket during arotation.

NoteIf the equipment is used in a mannernot specified by the manufacturer,the protection provided by the equip-ment may be impared.

No oiling or greasing is required. All partsare replaceable.

CleaningWipe with a clean, damp cloth. If necessary,use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. The unitmay be disinfected by wiping with a 1:1 solu-tion of household bleach (5.25% sodiumhypochlorite) and water.

To Replace MotorIn case of motor failure, the motor may easilybe replaced by the user:

1. Unplug the LABQUAKE rotisserie.

2. Remove the rotisserie shaft assemblyas described under Assembly on page8.

3. Unscrew the two screws that hold themotor case cover in place.

4. Remove the motor case cover.

5. Disconnect the motor wires from theswitch.

6. Unscrew the two screws attaching themotor and motor case to the frame.

7. To install the new motor, reverse thisprocedure.
