Labour Welfare Works Done By Trade Unions
These programmes facilities refers to the different activities which are being done by unions for the benefits of their members like: Organisation of Adult literacy and Leadership programme
promoted and organized by different Trade Unions. Trade Union Colleges set up by INTUC and AITUC . Publication of Labour welfare Activities done by their
respective companies. Establishment of libraries, workers clubs, cooperative
stores and housing with the help of Trade Unions.
The most important welfare work is done by Textile labour Association. In Indore the Mill Mazdoor Union runs labour welfare centres consisting of BalKanya and Mahila Mandirs which organises music,dance and social gatherings.
Mazdoor Sabha of Kanpur and The Indian Federation of labour in Uttar Pradesh are providing funds for retirement, death, unemployment and sickness for its members.
The Indian Railwaymen’s Union and the Assam Branch of the Indian National Trade Union Congress are providing money for life Insurance and Legal defence.
Indian Federation of labour are looking after varios types of labour welfare activities in different parts of countries among many companies.
Co-operative societies run by Trade Unions providing loan facilities and ration items at highly subsidized rates in many industries.
