The Economy A Labour government will ensure that ordinary people are not punished for the crisis that they didn’t cause. We will end the harmful policy of aggressive austerity.

We will raise the top rate of tax on multi-national corporations and the very wealthy, whilst also cracking down on tax evasion. We will also introduce an assets tax and Robin Hood Tax.

A Labour economy will be based on investing in people - not banks.

Benefits & Employment Labour believes that those who rely on the government for support should be treated with dignity and respect. That is why we will scrap workfare and the bedroom tax.

Labour believes that no-one should be reliant on government support whilst in full time work, and the government should not be subsidising employers. We will introduce a living wage and scrap tax credits for those on the minimum wage.

We will end abusive zero-hour contracts and stimulate employment through investment.

Defence & Foreign Policy

Labour will abandon the wasteful and destructive Trident missile system and divert the savings into infrastructure, healthcare and education. Creating jobs and investing in people.

We will call for increased sanctions on Russia and end the international community’s silence on Gaza. The Labour party stands with the people of Palestine.

Housing, Infrastructure & Energy

We will renationalise the energy sector, utilities, telecommunications, Royal Mail and transport. Infrastructure should work for people not profit.

Labour will build millions of high quality, affordable homes across Britain and improve railway infrastructure.

We will unequivocally oppose fracking. Labour supports the use of renewables and will invest in alternative fuel research.

Healthcare

We believe in a National Health Service that serves you. One which is run for people and not profit.

Labour will reverse the disastrous Health and Social Care Act and fight to keep vital NHS services open.

Labour will legalise the recreational use of cannabis by adults.

Education

We will scrap university tuition fees. Education is a fundamental right and Labour will work to remove the elitism that plagues British society and stems from an unfair education system.

We will encourage free schools, grammar schools, and faith schools to be put under local council control. Labour will ensure that education funds are fairly distributed and that education is to a high standard.

Political Reform

Labour will put forward radical political reform. The public has lost trust in a corrupt and out of touch political class.

We will put all petitions with over 300,000 signatures to a national referendum and offer a referendum on Britain’s EU membership. We will reform the House of Lords to be more representative and will remove power from unelected figures.

Labour will also disestablish the Church of England and the monarchy.
