eDOS Pilot Update – Patrick Lloyd

1. Status of Pilots selection – running behind

2. Plan to submit eDOS DSTU for May 2013

a) Preliminary content due 2/24b) Final content due 3/17

3. Lab-Lab Pilots

4. Implications of LOINC orders effort

5. NIST support for eDOS Q2/Q3 2013 for start (done by Sept 2013)

6. Expansion of eDOS IG

a) Ask at order (standardized questions) (eDOS or LOI?)i. Need more work from vocabulary groupii. Common data elements (LOINC codes) suggested code sets

b) define segment / element location for AOE result (appears HL7 will not approve) [segment for AOE?]

LRI Pilot Update

1. LRI pilots – completed

2. LRI implementation by EHR vendors in process

3. NIST test tool released for EHR Certification 2014

LOI Pilot Update

1. Status of Pilots selection

2. Scope of Pilots

a. Within single vendor (e.g. LIS / EHR from same vendor)

b. Between vendors (e.g. LIS / EHR from different vendors)

3. NIST effort with respect to LOI

a) Start in Feb

b) Prototype in May 2013

4. LOINC orders effort

Questions for Pilots Group1. List of some of the most common orders in the ambulatory setting to

use in the LOI guide (see LOINC)

a) Will match the existing LRI cases, but additional cases will help.

b) Need common orders that include Ask at Order Entry questions – these will be build in respective eDOS test scenarios

2. Add-On orders - would those ever be based on the result of a previous test?

a) For example the doc gets the first results back on a blood sample and then realizes he would like to add another test, because one of the screening tests was positive? Liver profile in asymptomatic patient – may want to order hepatitis screen

b) We are asking, because that would require to test support for parent-child linking in at least one of the scenarios.

Questions for Pilots Group3. Since LOI includes billing/insurance information - could anyone

share sample data or IN1 and GT1 segments with "real" data - especially to see how the insurance information looks. – ask financial management workgroup at HL7

4. Does anyone have sample messages compliant with the eDOS IG?

5. Should testing include scenarios for new catalog and update to existing catalog?
