– T-38 Talon propulsion unit, 45 years in service – 3700 lbs max thrust in AB– 16-in. nozzle exit diameter– Max exhaust gas temperature ~ 3200°F

Primarily used for augmentor exit plane diagnostics development & evaluationNearly 60 test programs executed over 5 yearsContinuous sea-level/static engine operations from idle to max afterburner (A/B); A/B durations up to nearly 5 minutes Water cooling system available up to 50 gpm and 1000 psi; gaseous nitrogen purge available up to 500 cfm and 500 psiExit plane traverse mechanism available for positioning flow-field diagnostics
