Post Title: Computer Laboratory Demonstrator
Department: Information Systems Services

Post Scale:
Working hours: Varies between 8:30 am until 5:30 pm.
Summary
The Computer Laboratory Demonstrator will be responsible for assisting studentsand academic staff in the use of the hardware and software applications available inthe computer labs.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct presentations on various software packages/applications. Create lab
packets, templates, handouts and signage to help staff and students make
independent use of computer and Internet resources.
2. Run reports/statistics (with provided instructions) on program usage. Keep track
of students work and assignments for faculty, as needed.
3. Coordinates scheduling of students, teachers and technical support personnel for
the purpose of maintaining computer lab operations.
4. Instructs students and teachers for the purpose of complementing classroom
instruction with various software applications and the use of computer
technology.
5. Maintains computer hardware and software applications for the purpose ofensuring availability of instructional material.

6. Monitors student activities for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment
conducive to learning.
7. Prepares documentation (e.g. reports, instructions, memos, etc.) for the purpose
of providing written support and/or conveying information.
8. Troubleshoot and assist students and staff with minor problems with computers in
lab (e.g. software installation, defragmentation, disk cleanup and virus scan).
9. Enforce all rules concerning the use of computer labs and ensure the ongoing
security of lab equipment.
10. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:
1. Minimum of a technical diploma in Computer Science or a related field, with 2years' relevant professional experience. Extensive professional experience in a
related position.
2. Experience working in an administrative- and/or education-related position.
3. Good written and spoken English Language skills.
4. Ability to deal effectively and sensitively with clients (faculty, students and staff) on
practical issues.
5. Motivation and ability to identify the needs of faculty, students and staff as well as
the initiative to meet these needs.
6. Availability to work additional hours, if required.
