time for the Alzheimer’s

Association walk. On Saturday,

September 23rd, 2017 the Walk

to End Alzheimer’s is in

Michigan City. You can sign up

for our Brentwood at La Porte

team online at alz.org and join

us in the walk to end

Alzheimer’s. Also, you can

donate to our team online or at

the front desk at Brentwood.

Another exciting event we are

hosting is the Family and

Friends Trivia night on August

23rd. Last year it was

challenging, but so much fun!

Please come and test your

knowledge and bring your

family and friends too!

Darlene won this award for showing JIW spirit and her dedication to the residents, staff, and Brentwood community. Darlene is now eligible for a drawing, which she could win a Margarita Ville trip. FEATURED RESIDENT: BARB B.Barb B. grew up in Hudson Lake IN. She attended New Carlisle High School. Barb and her husband Clifford were married 60 years. Together they had 4 children. Barb has always enjoy the art of knitting. When she was younger she would enjoy embroidery and crocheting. She taught herself how to knit. She was

always willing to learn how to do more with her knitting. She like making sweater and other things for her children. When the children were older she started to attend knitting conventions and knitting camps. She learn to be a teacher of knitting. As a professional knitter Barb loves when she is able to teach a new student. Barb has been running the knitting club at Brentwood for 5 or 6 years. Everyone is welcome to attend her knitting club whether you knit, crochet, or just like to visit. The knitting club meets every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Café. Thank you Barb for sharing with us.
