Manger – to eat
The verb MANGER means “to eat.” It is a regular ER verb, except
when it is conjugated for “nous.” For “nous,” manger follows the same conjugation pattern as nager (to swim) and voyager (to travel).

The verb BOIRE means “to drink.” It is an irregular verb, meaning it
does NOT follow the same conjugation rules as regular –reverbs like perdre or vendre.

Manger et Boire au Negatif
Now you know how to tell people in French what you eat and drink, but how do you say “I don’t eat,” or “I don’t drink?”
In French, to say “not” we use the little words “ne” and “pas.”
To put it into a sentence, follow the formation below.
So, to say “I don’t eat,” we write:
Je ne mange pas.subject ne verb pas
And to say “I don’t drink,” we write:
Je ne bois pas.subject ne verb pas
