Thursday / Jueves 9AM to 6PM
The feel of the fall season is in the air and we are moving every closer to the festivities that mark this time of year. I would encourage you to look at the schedule of Masses for All Saints Day on Friday November 1st and All Souls Day on Saturday November 2nd.
These two days are a very important part of our Catholic faith as they rec-ognize God’s goodness and the reality of eternal life. Our prayers with the saints and our prayers for the dead are signs of our hope in Jesus’ saving power and grace. It is a special day of blessing on All Souls Day where the Church, as a whole, offers Masses for all those who are commended to God’s mercy. Just a reminder that there are All Souls Envelopes where you can write the names of those you wish Fr. Steve, Fr. Joseph or myself to particularly pray for during this season of prayer.
Our renovation of the lights in the church building continues to move for-ward in planning. We hope to give you an update and plan of what we will be doing as a parish during the time when the church will be under renova-tion and where we will celebrate the Eucharist and other liturgical celebra-tions. (Continued on page 5...)
(Pastor’s Notes Continued form page 1)
One of the things we would like you to consider is signing up for electronic giving. It is an easy way to make your weekly, monthly or yearly gift to the parish.
Finally we continue with Creating a Culture of Vocations and A Parent Who Prays as build-ing blocks of faith within our families. Please sign up to take the Vocations Cross home with you in the coming weeks to pray as a family.
If you have yet to begin A Parent Who Prays then this weeks reflection and virtue is for you…HOPE…we are all in need of a little hope in our lives. Take time to begin this week in praying for your children and family.
God Bless, Fr. Mark

WEEKLY PRAYER DISCUSSION TOPICS Hope: Christian hope takes up and fulfills the hope of the chosen people which has its origin and model in the hope of Abraham, who was blessed abundantly by the promises of God fulfilled in Isaac, and who was purified by the test of the sacrifice. "Hoping against hope, he believed, and thus be-came the father of many nations.” (Rm 4:18) (CCC 1819)
Bringing the intention into your family/relationships: We can all hope for a better life but what are some life goals we hope for the mem-bers of our family? Looking back at the earlier vir-tues we prayed for, what are the hopes we shared?
Discussion starter: I hope… My hope for you is…. make these into prayer intentions
Spiritual Bouquet: Share with each other a bou-quet of hope for a blessing in the days to come.

For more questions, please email Father Joseph ([email protected]) or drop by the Office. Do You Know … “What is the Catholic Church?” The Catholic Church is composed of those who come from the most ancient Christian lineage, tracing their faith to the first followers of Jesus, the apostles, and the earliest com- munities of the apostles. Their community life, expressed in their worship, their teaching and Church organi-zation, reflects this ancient 0heritage and the continuity of their life from apostolic times.

2019 ST. LUCY PARISH CAR RAFFLE
We are starting a Car Raffle at St. Lucy’s this weekend and our com-mittee is very excited about it! Our Youth Ministry has grown so much so the raffle is a new project to raise funds for our Youth Ministry, includ-ing Catechetics for our children, EDGE for Junior High, Life Teen for High School and our annual Vacation Bible Camp.
Our Grand Prize will be a brand new Jeep Wrangler (we will have a nice red one on display throughout the next couple months), 1st prize $3000, 2nd prize $1000 and 3rd prize $500. We will be selling raffle tickets from today through Dec. 15th which is the date of our drawing. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased after all of the Masses each weekend or in the Parish Office during the week. We will be selling a maximum of 800 tickets so the odds are quite good! Rules can be found on our Parish website: http://www.stlucy-campbell.org/car-raffle/
