teachers employ a practical, multi-sensory approach to teaching english or French through games, music, arts and crafts, story-telling, role play, dressing up, cooking and quizzes, all of which help ensure lessons are varied and interesting. new themes are introduced every couple of days, for example The world around us, Going shopping, Poetry & stories from around the world, exercise, and hobbies.

our ‘adult to student’ ratio is 1:2; these adults are teachers and monitors who are employed all year round by La Garenne, to ensure camp is safe and memorable.

SportS and mountain adventureS: football, swimming, cycling,

climbing, ice-skating, banana boat rides, water-skiing and paddle

boarding, hiking, assault courses and rope-swinging, via ferrata, bridge-

walking, canyoning, orienteering and cosy camp fire evenings.

recreational eventS: trampolining, bouncy inflatables, accrobranch,

bowling, table tennis and visits to leisure centres for a laser game, a

giant maze, signal de bougy, aquapark, swiss vapour park and happyland.

cultural tripS: museum visits, exploration of historical sites such as

the castle ‘chateau de chillon’ or gruyere village, a chocolate factory

tour, an excursion to the ‘glacier des diablerets’, montreux Jazz festival

or the 'mines de sel de bex'.

SportS cluBS: football, basketball, sailing, golf, tennis, biathlon,

horse-riding, drone piloting.

artiStic cluBS: singing, video, cooking, nature orientation, beauty,

secrets, manga, events, dance, art.

Fun and games are to be held on swiss national day, during themed evening events including discos, costume parties and dance performances, theatre and singing. Large-scale mountain picnics and outdoor games (with role play and treasure hunts), giant chess, cards, and diverse games tournaments add to the excitement.
